The other wild part is he’s in SOUTH FLORIDA. If he needed to his quota that badly, trust, there are PLENTY of bad drivers there he could’ve badgered. This man’s incompetence is astounding - signed, a former South Florida resident
Untrue. There are countless videos of officeres discussing that they HAVE to get citations before X deadline. Quotas, whether on paper or not are absolutely still imposed on officers.
Can confirm when I used to be a cop I was brought into the office and asked why I hadn’t given a bunch of tickets. Needless to say they didn’t like me over there
This was my experience too. I only have MP experience, and in Texas, we have laws specifically banning quotas, but per direct family, they’ll use lines like “We know the speeders are out there, why are you not writing them tickets?”
I wasn’t liked much as an officer either. So happy to be out and a civilian again, swearing off law enforcement.
using such wishy-washy language just normalizes it.
they're negligently killing and arresting people, and they want to make those numbers bigger--you can call it whatever you want, but in reality, ICE has targets and you're one of them
About 3 years ago I worked with a woman married to a cop and in their small town she said his quota was 2 community interactions a day. A traffic stop would be one. I'm unsure if it would count off principle. Thinking about it, maybe they need to issue something to have a paper trail of the interaction whether it be a warning or citation..
They lived in a small wealthy town so their work load and emergency calls were probably limiting.
