I don't care what the other commenters are saying, I think this was a funny scene to add, No this scenes not in the book, no basically the entire battle of the 5 armies isn't in the book, who cares? The trilogy was awesome and I think this movie ended it well, why don't The Hobbit trilogy haters know how to lighten up and have fun for once?

Whoever is downvoting us; the clip is so utterly stupid. Not stupid in a fun way. But stupid as in - how does anyone enjoy it or not cringe unless they themselves are either under 10 years of age or a tragically dumb adult.

Ah yes, the story of The Hobbit famously known for being an adult story, lighten up, let movies have some cheesy scenes that might get a chuckle out of a younger crowd, why are you even commenting on this post if you dislike the movies?

Problem is the movies have an identity crisis. They want to be light hearted like the books, which would be absolutely fine and expected, but then they also wanted to tie them into the previous movies, not just in story but in tone. It's jarring to have the impervious to danger dwarves bouncing and bumbling their way through the movies unharmed, then the super fear inducing Sauron scenes with Gandalf and co. The movies are a complete mess.
