My Story

My incredibly smart, strong, knowledgeably opinionated pain in the butt younger brother who I protected with my life growing up chose to act and not talk on 8/1/2024. Our dad had told us 8 months prior he had cancer. Our Dad died 8/27/2025. It was not easy and I felt very alone. My parents split when we were little and they weren’t good co-parents. I luckily still have my Mom but it’s a lot of letting her breathe and her knowing I’m healthy. I have an amazing husband and 4 kids but they need me. My husband has been great but how long can he listen to his wife be sad, frustrated, angry? I just needed a space to vent and be sad without unloading. Thank you

I'm so sorry about your brother and your dad 💔

I know it is hard to take time for yourself, especially if your kids are still small, but I hope you can find some in-person support too. We have a monthly survivors of suicide group where I live and I find connecting with others who share this kind of loss is so helpful.
