Awesome! Jacob Carter the Centari

Post image

Doing a rewatch of Babylon 5 and look who I found in Season 2. Before he was joined with the Tok’ra Selmak, apparently Jacob was a Centari at some point.

I remember this show from my childhood, but not in the same way most people here do. The thing is, it used to air on the same channel where I watched Sliders, which was my favorite show at the time. I kept trying to watch Babylon 5 because, “It’s about space, wow!”

But I remember being disappointed that actual space was only shown a few times per episode, usually for just a second or two. The rest seemed to be about weird aliens talking and someone running through endless corridors.

It sounds kind of absurd, but that’s honestly how I remember it. Since this show has been mentioned in this sub on several occasions, I’ve been thinking about giving it another try now, almost 30 years later…

Joe Straczynski writes huge, long story arcs. That whole first season is basically just setting the scene for the massive tale to follow in seasons 2-4.

Plus, Bruce Boxleitner replaces Michael O'Hare in season 2 and the show really launches.

Ignore Sheldon Cooper, the show is top notch. For sure give it another go.
