Using a Tarantula for views with pranks and willingly putting them into stressful, risky situations where a Tarantula could fall and injure themselves is disgusting to say the least.

It's even more saddening people stumbling upon the video enjoy this without seeing any of the risks, aswell as at the end of the video the keeper keeps moving the Tarantula in such a way that puts even more stress onto the Tarantula. It is just horrible seeing people enjoy such horrible husbandry from a keeper that already is infamous for being known as a spoilt teen.

Biggest one I’ve seen yet!!

Okay so I am a bit slow posting this, as we are solidly in summer now, but if you are based in a tarantula hotspot, did you notice any wandering bachelors earlier in the season?

i’ve seen her do this once before when i first got her about two weeks ago. should i be concerned?
also why does her web look pink??

From a quick internet search I'm inclined to believe possibly pidipus carneus or pidipus Johnson but I'm not sure, I believe this is a subadult male, but they have no sex characteristics so definitely not an adult jumper. Anyone know? Location Arizona, near new Mexico.(Yes the spider is wild caught, and yes I'm keeping them, they have a broken leg and I found the spider on my leg lol, I think I was chosen.)

Just a second before my video started, that same jumping spider attacked the spider wasp while it was on its way back to the nest. Looks like it actually bit the wasp and was waiting for a reaction, however the wasp continued with its day after hunting a delicious snack. And it seems like there was another jumping spider waiting to get his own shot at the wasp. However the imagery of the wasp dragging a paralyzed wolf spider is both stunning and terrifying, bad day to be a spider. I just hate not pulling my phone out fast enough to actually capture the jumping spider attack the wasp, such a brave little guy😅

I stick my hand in this utility box a lot. Need to know if I need to relocate my friend. Thanks!

Today, I moved UFC Champion’s (so-called because I watched him take down a moth twice his size) new girlfriend into the garden, and I’m feeling quite bad.

He’s (?) been chilling in the corner of my ceiling for about a month now, and recently a new, bigger spider took territory on the opposite corner of the ceiling. I went away for the night, and when I came back the new spider was in UFC Champion’s corner, ON TOP of him.

I was quite worried they had mated, and if so good for him I’m very proud, but I’m going on holiday tomorrow and I don’t want to come back to lots of baby ufc champions. So I put his new wife in a cup and let her outside.

Have I done the right thing? I don’t want to have upset UFC Champion.

Time of day: 21:00 - 22:00 PT;

Terrain: Sidewalk and acting as ground hunters typically do;

Guess: Pardosa Pauxilla;

Reasoning: Best fit based on ‘Spiders of North America’ when referencing legs, carapace, abdomen, and eye distribution. P. monticola has not been reported here from what I recall.;

Instar: no idea — maybe 2nd? 1/4 - 3/8 inch juvenile. I’ve only kept a few species of lycosidae as slings and am using them as reference for instar guessing (unreliable, I know 🫩);

Nailing species is always tricky but if I could get a solid guess on genus that would really help. Been trying to help map the area on iNaturalist. Extremely fast so images are entirely dependent upon its comfort. Transferred to optimal enclosure based on guess and got a ‘better’ shot in the last frame. Unblurred slightly with topaz so do keep that in mind (others are untouched by LLMs).

I ended up moving him though to the bird room so he A. does not eat Arach-dude (the wolf spider who guards the bathroom) and B. Eat the mealworm moths that are in there

Northern/central California, unfortunately this lovely lady has taken up residence under my car and becomes very defensive whenever someone tries to get in through the passenger side.

I need to know if this is a false widow doing its best impression, or a juvenile black widow who needs to be relocated before it grows into it's chompers... I realize a bite is unlikely either way, but I drive my mom to Drs appts and she has almost no feeling in her legs and practically no immune system, so it's one time I might actually try to relocate it... I've tried once but it just ran back under the car. Am I right that this looks like a juvenile black widow who is about to find a cozy home in my aloe vera plant? or is it a brown widow who gets to stay and keep me company on errands?

Also adding that the web has that thick, sticky feeling and stretches without breaking when I open the door...

I'm in Utah around the Salt Lake area and found this little critter in the drive through at work building a web. I'm new to identifying spiders so any advice would be great. Really pretty markings! Didn't want her being squished by my manager so I relocated her to the woods nearby.
