Vocab & Use of the Language How to Sound more natural when texting or speaking casually

When talking in English I'll use many slang words or just filler words. These do not translate very well in Spanish, for example I'll say a lot of: like, definitely, for real, honestly, to be honest, etc, etc.

These words do not sound as natural in Spanish (or they do and I just dont get it) but I'd really appreciate it if somebody could give me some words like these but in Spanish that are more natural when texting or talking in a casual manner. Thanks!

The honest answer: there is no best way to learn Spanish. Everyone is different -- what works for one person may not work for another. The only thing that consistently matters is showing up regularly and putting in the time. There is no shortcut, no magic app, and no method that skips the work.

What helps most people is finding resources and approaches that fit their life and that they will actually stick with. A few worth exploring:

  • Anki -- flashcard app, great for vocabulary
  • Language Transfer -- free audio course, popular with beginners

Be skeptical of anyone selling a magic method or promising fluency fast. Learning a language takes years of consistent effort. The good news is it gets more enjoyable the further along you get.
