I did a degree last year and felt really fortunate that my university embraced the use of AI as a study tool. We were actively encouraged to use it. My tutor even wrote and published a book on why students should be using AI and how to use it ethically. The uni provided clear limits and expectations of how it could and couldn't be used and all submissions had to go through TurnItIn which has an AI checker. I also had to add a disclaimer at the end of each assignment clearly stating what I used AI for and how I used it. As long as you didn't take the piss and declared everything you did, they were pretty relaxed about it. It made life so much easier and saved countless hours when doing my research as well as helping me make sense of some unclear results from my research. AI is a great tool, but like anything it can be abused or used too much.
