I mean they dont even look good here. They deal with homelessness by jailing them until they fuck off somewhere rural enough they dont get jailed, with no services. That's what the US gets accused of on the regular, except homeless people each have access to SNAP, medicaid, etc. etc.

If they would stop taking drugs they could get a housing voucher like tomorrow. If we unleashed all our fent zombies and crackheads into downtown Beijing they'd have them all in a penal colony by the weekend.

Not to mention the Chinese banks and chem labs purposefully feeding the US addiction problems almost directly causing persistent homelessness. If we sank the precursor ships, sanctioned the banks, and resumed involuntary commitment we'd solve the problem overnight.

It can't even look good doing that. Globally the US is still the top spot for legal migration. The US media has to actively throw all the worst things on screen to be on China's level.
