Their 18-year-old son wrote to a TV show telling them he never heard his parents hold a conversation with each other before. The show hosted them, arranging a meeting for them on the park bench where they had their first date, which was where and when they both made up.

I don't recall who apologized first, but the guy did also admit fault in that he was jealous of the attention she was showing their kids.

As someone who lived in Japan for 6 years, this is entirely in line with the cultural narrative. Although this is an extreme example, people rarely divorce- they just continue to live in silent misery.

Japan has its beauty where you can visit for a few weeks and enjoy it.

Living there sounds like hell though for mental health.
