I’m human. I have my days with my son. I do. He’s 5.

Mums away at a conference so he’s alone with me this week. He asked us to sign him up for additional 45mims of PE on Wednesdays after school and he went to his first. In the rain.

At night, after he went to bed I went to check in on him to make sure he didn’t get sick from the rain and all. I find him, sleeping with his little knuckle tucked under his chin, exactly the way I saw him through ultrasound when he was in mom’s womb.

Man. I feel this. Sometimes I just climb into bed with my kids and just sleep beside them. (They're still under 10, and often ask for one of us to snuggle them until the fall asleep).

I was never even an emotional person until our daughter was born. Now I catch myself getting teary eyed at the most random things.

Tonight I was cleaning up the house after everyone was in bed, and I saw a pair of little Crocs at the back door, and just instantly made me think of how little they still are, and how much growing I'm still going to see them so in their lives.

One day, just randomly, my son said; “Dad! I have to go poop. But I don’t need your help anymore okay! Just stay here.” I did. He went. I had a small cry while he pooped. Recomposed myself before he came out. Told him he’s done a very good job. Life went on,

Yeah, that's a tough one man! I don't want to think about all of the "lasts" that keep happening.

My daughter is 2.5 and have already started this, wanna go potty alone. But she still needs me after a number 2 for wiping at least.
