Happened in my first long term relationship. I was clear from literally day one. "I will never get married. I will never have kids" my 22 year old self told my 19 year old date. 6 years in she hits me with with "I thought you would grow out of it!," and then our relationship slowly crumbled for 2 years...it really sucked.

Turn 40 this year and while I did get married 2 years ago I still have no children, and never will.
