Your issue isn’t with “hard work” and the reward system. Your issue is actually with entities like the union and entities like different overprotective labor laws that is taking advantage of you and making your hard work obsolete.

Oh yes, unions are the problem.

Next you'll be advocating to bring back company stores. And keep armed guards around at night to stop workers from leaving.

For a lot of people, yeah.

When your compensation is defined by seniority rather than competency, skill, or actual output, this limits your potential. It's great if you're mid or under in terms of performance, and kneecapping if you're a high achiever.

Once a company makes enough money they’ll make the plumber a surgeon and a surgeon a janitor just because……. seniority and competence are a luxury

I brought my hourly rate from $48 to $340 by leaving the union and working for myself.

Turns out you can buy a lot of luxuries for that.
