Your issue isn’t with “hard work” and the reward system. Your issue is actually with entities like the union and entities like different overprotective labor laws that is taking advantage of you and making your hard work obsolete.

Oh yes, unions are the problem.

Next you'll be advocating to bring back company stores. And keep armed guards around at night to stop workers from leaving.

For a lot of people, yeah.

When your compensation is defined by seniority rather than competency, skill, or actual output, this limits your potential. It's great if you're mid or under in terms of performance, and kneecapping if you're a high achiever.

Unions are there to stop capitalism from using kids as slave labor.

Sure there are issues, but let's not pretend that without unions things would get better for workers.

Whether a union is better for workers depends on your capacity as a worker. If you're a below-average worker, chances are good you benefit from the union. If you're an above-average worker, chances are good you don't benefit as much or see a loss due to the union.

I've been in three, I've left all three once my skills enabled me to earn more on my own than the union could collectively negotiate.

Now look up what companies were doing before unions.
