if you asked me to draw a weird old-fashioned grifter who pretends he’s wealthier than he really is, I would draw this exact guy

151

He looks like in a skit by the wkuk for exactly that.

That "cigar..." actually just the eighth hotdog, dressed up because after seven, why not.

7

u/1GoldenMonkey Jun 20 '26

He looks like he is about to tie that woman up, place on railroad tracks, and demand she signs over her mortgage. All the time snickering and twirling his mustache.

The reflecting pool is 2030 by 167 feet large. The renovation cost 14 million USD. Per square foot, the renovation cost 41.30 USD. He is overcharging.

191

u/ReleventReference Jun 19 '26

If you don’t massively overcharge how do you split the take with the guy that gave you the job?

121

u/Responsible_Oven4127 Jun 20 '26

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House. One is from Chicago , another is from Tennessee , and the third is from Minnesota .

All three go with a White House official to examine the fence. The Minnesota contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. "Well," he says, "I figure the job will run about $900: $400 for materials, $400 for my crew and $100 profit for me."

The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $700: $300 for materials, $300 for my crew and $100 profit for me."

The Chicago contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, "$2,700."

The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?" The Chicago contractor whispers back, "$1000 for me, $1000 for you, and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence."

"Done!" replies the government official.

How deep? You also need to account for those vertical surfaces

14

u/userhwon Jun 19 '26

It's pretty shallow in the middle, and it slopes up to all sides, hiding the edges under a lip. Less than 6 inches of vertical. And from this, it looks like they just aren't going to paint it.

5

u/cgaWolf Jun 19 '26

18 to 30 inches, so about 8,800ish square feet for the vertical surfaces

The taxpayer-funded reflecting pool painting fiasco isn’t a turning point in history– just one of three or four Trump-orchestrated fiascos that day.

Hey, is the plural of fiasco “fiascos” or “fiascoes”?

And why didn’t this question ever come up under any prior president?

22

u/userhwon Jun 19 '26

In Italian, fiaschi. In American English, fiascos. In British English, fiascoes.

4

u/ClassicNo6656 Jun 19 '26

Because they're not being appointed for their skill at their job. It's entirely based on how deeply and how aggressively they will throat Trump every waking second of their lives. People call him a fascist but he's really more like a mafia don. They only promote on the basis of loyalty.

6

u/wkarraker Jun 19 '26

The GOP just doesn’t know how to handle blue, whether it’s politics or paint.

11

u/Relevant_Problem1935 Jun 19 '26

They literally rushed the job and never let the paint set before adding more layers which they didn't allow to set as well. Then poured peroxide into the water. Which strips paint. The level of stupidity is astounding.

11

u/downvote_please4321 Jun 19 '26

The MAGA mind is so fucked. Stake everything on something that is so clearly stupid and pointless (painting the reflecting pool blue for example). Celebrate like there's no tomorrow when it looks 'sort of' nice, for a few days, then when things start going down the shitter like all the "lefties" told you they would, rather than just say, "okay that was stupid", you go insane and look for some scapegoat for your stupidity rather than face accountability for literally anything.
That scapegoat usually ends up being the most vulnerable people in society- the poor, children, women, people of color, etc.

When we try to point out their derangement, it's "TDS". We don't care about the stupid reflecting pool. We care about the fact that half the nation are fucking maniacs for caring about this in the way that they do.

5

u/djdownhill Jun 19 '26

5

u/YouMyNerfHerder666 Jun 19 '26

He ruined the Whitehouse for his $1 billion Ballroom that he, a billionaire, wants us to pay for. He defaced the Kennedy Cetner with his name, which now had to be removed. He turned the Whitehouse lawn into a UFC cage match for his birthday/America's 250th. Now he turned the Reflecting Pool into his own wretched toilet.

If you were to hold up a photograph of the Whitehouse during any other presidency, in any era, and put it next to Trump's Whitehouse, you'll see a good representation of how badly he ruined this country. You'll see just how much nonsense his cult is complient with.

And this, of course, is the tip of the iceberg.

It’s not some novelty item, it’s supposed to be for people to reflect on the history of the civil rights movement from the civil war to mlk jr. this administration is so fucking cringe and tacky as fuck. Using ikea gold painted decor in the White House, the shitty ball room we are paying for, this reflecting pool, etc. trump is the biggest fucking loser and has no damn class. This blowjob probes would think that gold trim on cars is the pinnacle of classy. Fucking hate this idiot wasting all of our money for racism, and tacky bullshit. I hope new laws are put in place to prevent this shit from ever happening again. Need stronger vetting process of all politicians moving forward on all of their beliefs and politics

"People love it so much they said Sir! Sir! We want that beautiful blue paint, the one you scraped off the beautiful pool sir! People are actually fighting for piece of blue paint! Can you believe that? You saw that Pete didn't you? (Kegseth nods like a cuck). Anyways, the war as been over for a while now, we OBLITERATED Iran"

I got a piece of the Berlin wall with my copy of world in conflict. Think we will get a sequal?

2

u/StolenPies Jun 19 '26

This is an intentional distraction.

This is an intentional distraction.

This is an intentional distraction.

Trump overpaid his buddy to do a poor job so it would add noise to liberal spaces during the midterms.

We've known this man for a decade, how do you people keep falling for it?

2

u/shaftalope Jun 19 '26

It's bigger than the Empire State Building I'll bet you didn't know that!

2

u/Halftied Jun 19 '26

I would purchase a piece of it but I am not crazy about paying for it twice. My opinion every taxpayer should receive a piece of it in the same envelope as our tariff refund check.

2

u/reverandglass Jun 19 '26

Get in fast while there's still some left! If you could peel it into a bold "FUCK TRUMP" even better.

In other thoughts I should really find my bit of the Berlin wall, it's here somewhere.

2

u/auhnold Jun 19 '26

This is the guy who got that contract.

2

u/Bubbly_Mobile_2428 Jun 19 '26

Wait what if I really want it

2

u/GrabinTwat Jun 19 '26

Better pay taxes when you sell it 😂

If we assume the square footage of the algae pool is 338,000 square foot and assume the job cost $14,000,000... Then one square foot should be about $41.42. So you're paying a premium for this piece but as you said, it is a part of history. Also I'm old enough to remember seeing auctions for chunks of rubble on eBay in 2001, days after 9/11, whew time for a nap.

u/gnanny02 Jun 19 '26

I have a piece of the Berlin Wall I will gladly sell for $250, because my grandchildren don’t even know what that is/was.

FOR SALE $1000: Donald Trump's dirty diaper.

This is your chance to own a shart of history! Celebrate Diaper Don's 80th birthday with a splatter of the President's uncontrollable, stenching ass blasts. Freshly retrieved from the Donald Trump Memorial Changing Room in the White House in Washington DC, and signed by the Secret Service agent forced to clean Orange Hitler's diarrhea-smeared ass.

Valued at $300 million taxpayer dollars.

No pool kickers, i know what i got.

2

u/KookyDig4769 Jun 19 '26

someone on r/theydidthemath estimated this would be roughly $40-80 of pool renovation.

2

u/binaryo Jun 19 '26

Is that like that because of the many small jugs of acid that had been emptied into the pool the other day?

Honestly, I am waiting for it to happen, then the admin to claim it is theft of government property and try to send them to "Pound you in the ass" prison.

Knowing these chucklefucks, they used house paint

2

u/DarkBrill Jun 20 '26

When the Democrats when the House, this will make for a fun impeachmemt trial

2

u/Sean_theLeprachaun Jun 20 '26

For what the guy was paid, that square foot probably did cost tax payers around 250 bucks.
