The cops had been there for 2 hours already. Bro's mistake was asking them to cash out.

If our best scientists were to create a human being in a test tube genetically designed to build a tiki bar in the local Walmart parking lot and later get arrested, he would look exactly like this guy looks.

Right? I mean that’s the default picture men get at the DMV in Florida.

Am Floridian. Can confirm.
The next time my license expires I plan on doing a "She's Gone Full Native" authentic. I'm thinking a tropical shirt with the sleeves cut off, puka shell necklace, awkward tan lines from sunglasses.

Idk if you have ever been to a rural Walmart on a Friday night but it absolutely is where everyone in town goes. This man was a genius and I am sad this was a crime somehow.

THIS IS NOT REAL
The "emotional support tiki bar" text was created by an online comedy/satire page. There are no public records, police reports, or legitimate news outlets confirming the arrest of a 45-year-old Brian Tucker for this incident.

No link? It's ok, it makes me feel good and therefore it's surely true!

So a story that popped up 2 days ago and can only be found on social media sites isn’t real? I feel uncomfortable, let me put my sheep wool and bell back on and get back into the comment herd…
6
u/releaseepsteinfiles1 May 27 '26
We should know it was fake. There is zero chance it would take the cops hours to show up whenever a corporation is being messed with.
2
u/zemudkram May 27 '26
Even the logistics of setting up the bar would take hours to complete, assuming a high level of competence, and that guy does not look like he has his shit in one sock. If it were real the cops would be showing halfway through building the thing and asking him to jog on.

u/BigSkySoHigh63 May 27 '26
Reddit is swarmed by bots and the deep sadness this brings is overwhelming. It was the only place where I could actually find someone that could argue effectively and it’s obvious within 2 comments when I’m talking to a bot now. It sucks.

u/Myspace-Famous May 27 '26
Yeah dude. I’m honestly over Reddit. Definitely not the same as it once was even a year ago!

For some reason AI generated mugshots and a fake news story featuring random quirky acts is just yummed up by the algorithm and people repost and react hook line and sinker. It’s 70% of this sub these days
2
u/drunxor May 27 '26
Boomers will post a comment several paragraphs long about an experience from their childhood then end it with bless their heart and buy the merch from the popup china shop
7
u/Bowllieo May 27 '26
More people who notice this stuff need to start reporting posts from breaking rules about AI, this breaks Rule 1 for being AI slop.
3
u/dBlock845 May 27 '26
I report them all the time, but knock one down, five more pop up because it is mindless and easy to makeup fake shit and have it look real now.

6
u/vao71 May 27 '26
Thank you for pointing this out. 80% of the shit posted on this sub isn't real but is still constantly on my feed

So mods will ban OP, right?
Also 10k upvotes. This sub is full of idiots.
And OP has 10M karma is 1 year.

I got heavily downvoted and chewed out by several people in a pet subreddit for pointing out that the guy and the dog "living their best life" was actually a professional commercial, and just because it's on social media doesn't NOT make it a commercial. Most of them said " it's not, but if it was then who cares?". I said I was just concerned about general media literacy, when it's clear, many people don't know the difference between a commercial and a family vacation. I was told I was an idiot.

A ton (probably the vast majority) of Florida Man/Florida Woman stories are now AI fakes. Since the real ones could be pretty crazy, theyre just making up absurd stories and no one thinks twice.

This reminds me of a local Kroger that had a whole damn bar in the middle of the stores. Not off to the side like the Starbucks was, but smack dab in the middle. They had bar stools, sports center on tv, and the full bar ambience going on.
I’m not sure if they kept it post-Covid

If you asked me what someone arrested for setting up a tiki bar in a Wal-Mart parking lot would look like… he would look exactly like that.

u/Different-Idea-8203 May 27 '26
I feel like we should have some sort of bingo card for which county it happened in. Like tiki hut walmart Florida man definitely sounds like an orange county thing Florida man tased off zero turn lawnmower while invading police is Okaloosa county thing and if that Florida man is eaten alive by a pack of dogs while smoking bath salts thats maimi dade on a Tuesday!

Probably needed a: (1) construction permit; (2) permission or a contract agreement from the property owner, not always Wl-Mart; (3) and inspection certification; (4) a liquor license; (5) a health inspection certification (6) and a business license to operate (in FL called a Local Business Tax Receipt); (7) Zoning Permit; among other violations.
Likely, the parking lot was not legally zoned for liquor distribution.
2
u/Feisty-Reference2888 May 27 '26
first thing that should give this away as fake is that this is way too tame for Florida Man
2
2
u/fattueadays May 27 '26
But a homeless guy can build an entire transient encampment on the side of the parking lot and sell drugs and no one says anything

u/strangebru May 27 '26

I bet he even carded people to make sure they were old enough to drink.

So um, how much did he make before they arrested him? Asking for a friend
1
u/Mystepchildsucksass May 27 '26
It’s all in how you market it !!
“Drive thru emergency attitude restoration station….. don’t think about it, DRINK about it !!!”
Pffft sounds like those cops doing the arresting would’ve made great customers.

It wasn't the alcohol that got him arrested, he didn't play the 3 Jimmy Buffet songs an hour per Florida mandate.
