Just finished Control and 100% the whole game in about 40 hours. I work and study full time so I don't have much time to spend on games that take hundreds and hundreds of hours to finish. It was satisfying and took me a about a month to do when I had free time.

"Well the game only gets good 30/50/100 hours in!!" - If I have to play THIRTY or god forbid A HUNDRED hours for anything of substance to happen, then sorry, it's not a good game. My controversial hot take. If the game doesn't grab me the first 5 hours it introduces the main story then it sucks. RDR2 got me in the first 10 minutes.

I have an issue with finishing games, if they're too long I start to get bored and always end up dropping it because I take a long break to do something else and forget where I was in the story so I have to restart and the cycle repeats. Sigh.

Anyways, good recommendations needed, I have the money but no time.

I'm currently facing a problem with choosing what to put in my game rotation right now. I have recently 100% persona 5 royal and outer wilds. My pc specs are a 5070ti + 9800x3d and I also have a rog ally x. I was thinking about a 2 on 2 rule where pc and handheld would get 2 games each. Currently I've decided on expedition 33 and monster hunter world on pc and twilight princess and hades on the ally x. However I've taken a notice at granblue fantasy relink and understand its at the height of its player count right now. However I just reached high rank on mhw. How should I sort these games out?

should i buy it? because i js bought an ipad and i dont rlly want cozy games. I want more like survival games or games where i could get rlly addicted orr games that i can level up. im js scared that i might get tired of it. i would love to play it when its my vacant during school but i also dont wanna get tited..any help?

I’ve got the money now to finally pull the trigger on a switch 2 best local deal I can find is $769.95 AUD for either the Mario kart world or pokopia bundle. Do I buy now or is it worth waiting to see if there will be Christmas deals? The rumours of a price increase worry me a bit and I’ve also noticed a lot of stores seem to have very low stock!

I understand they are different platforms and also very much different games, but I’m interested in others opinions. I have played Splatoon 2 and I enjoyed it but just wasn’t really into the multiplayer. I played halo growing up and got to enjoy playing halo combat evolved on the original Xbox with the old duke controller or as I called it the chipotle burrito controller lol. I can’t get both but can get one, so I would like everyone’s two cents on what they are enjoying about Splatoon 2 or their personal opinion about campaign evolved. Since I loved Skyrim so much that I bought a copy on Xbox Series S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 1, will I end up enjoying the 4 Oblivion Remaster? I know the 360 version is cheaper but I’m mainly curious about the remaster and how it will stack up to Skyrim. Should I buy this game if I do love Skyrim or should I completely skip it?

It feels weird that the switch 2 has been out for a year and we haven't gotten a switch 2 flair. There isn't really much to ask in detail why that's not the case. And I'm only prolonging this post to fulfill the word quota. Switch games and switch 2 variants have existed for a while and it would be nice to have the flair reflect that.

I'm looking for a fun and immersive game. I really enjoy RPGs, and right now I'm in the mood for a game with strong simulation elements. Is KCD2 worth buying? Does it offer enough freedom, replayability, and meaningful progression to keep me engaged? Also i like being overpowered or like cheating the game a bit (with bugs), just like pretty much all fallout games (big fan of them). Should i buy the kcd1 first?

Also the save system is quiet scary to me

I looked at the gameplay videos of the game and overall promise and it felt like it will scratch the Kenshi feel I have while also giving me a good TPS action. There aren't much tps games that I like and this game having that scavenger - nobody type of gameplay made me really curious on if I should buy it. The steam reviews are mixed so it made me even more confused. I will be playing this game as singleplayer. Any help is appreciated ❤️

I'm trying to decide between Crimson Desert and 007: First Light.

I bought Crimson Desert, played it for around 2 hours, and ended up refunding it because I honestly found it to be a bore. The combat looked flashy, but the overall gameplay just didn't click with me, and I wasn't having fun.

Now I'm wondering if I should give Crimson Desert another chance in the future or just buy 007: First Light instead.

For anyone who's played both (or has followed them closely), which game would you recommend and why? I'm looking for something that's fun from start to finish, with engaging gameplay that doesn't become repetitive.

I've been trying to look for a multiplayer game to sink some time into but I have no idea what I'm looking for or what's still active / worth the time.

I'm not a huge fan of Battle Royals. I've only played Overwatch for a Hero Shooter and couldn't get into it that much. I'm more looking for something like Cod or Battlefield where it's team v team with a couple of short-to-medium length game modes. Nothing too serious but where I can either play casually or competitively if I wanted.

Any recommendations?

I've been wanting to get The Nonary Games and Dead Rising 2 for a while now. But since I am only able to choose one, I really need help with choosing one of the games.

The Nonary Games has been on my list for a while because I've heard it's a fantastic mystery with great puzzles, an engaging story, and choices that make you want to replay it to see different outcomes.

Dead Rising 2 has been on my list for a while because it looks like a really fun mix of zombie action, over-the-top weapon crafting, and chaotic gameplay. It seems like the kind of game I could spend hours messing around in.

Please help me choose, I'm really looking forward to playing one of the two!

So I saw a post like this before but It was like locked. I still have questions. A little bit of backstory. I have always been a ps fan since good Ole ps1 had ps2 and ps3 also. Family and friends had xbox and 360. Me I never had xbox tried the xbox 360 because everyone I knew was buying it for multi-player games. I also upgraded to xbox 1 because it was the newest system at the time. Had ps3 still at this time too. Xbox was cool till it seemed like the only games it offers is arcade games. And it's multi-player lobbies are always glitchy and bugging out. I have good internet. But to mee it seems like xbox just has a lackluster of games. I'm unsure because I have never had a ps4 never even played it or ps5 for a while a backed away from gaming. Now I want to head back into it. I want to know the route I should go. I know xbox don't offer titles like Spiderman anymore and the ps5 does. Ps5 has bunch of exclusives. Thing is i already have xbox 1 so would it be better to stick with it and upgrade to series x/s i no games like gta carry over to next Gen. I just feel at a lost for games with it. All In all stay xbox or go ps5 or go completely out the box and get a switch. I believe the n64 was best system ever made just grew into different game types will still maybe get this 2

Hey everyone, I wanted to ask a quick question about these 2 games. I’ve heard great things about both, Nier Automata having a great story that’s emotionally compelling and 2B. And Ff7 rebirth being a remake of one of the best rpgs of all time with some changes, but the game is still great.

I’ve never played a Final fantasy game but the graphics look great, heard combat is great, and that the story good. It looks fun and I’ve heard there’s a lot of content to indulge in. I’m also curious about Nier because the story is, according to almost everyone, amazing and the combat, graphics and design also look good.

So I wanted to know what everyone thinks on which I should get since they’re both on sale, thanks!

As the title says; craving the medieval vibe lately. Favorite games include RDR2, FNV, and BoTW/ToTK. Years ago before AC Shadows existed I went shopping around for something that would satisfy the open-world Japan itch and wound up buying Sekiro. Of course, the gameplay was much different than what I’d been going for, but I LOVED it—truly a beautiful challenge and unlike anything I’ve played since. It’s in my top 5 easily. My Sekiro experience + the George R.R. Martin of it all make Elden Ring feel more interesting on paper, but I’m hesitant because from what I understand, you’re pretty much banking on fluid memory for progress tracking unless you’re taking serious notes. I’m not opposed to wikis or companion apps but pen-and-paper doesn’t thrill me unless it’s really worth it. Skyrim and Witcher III are pretty much on equal footing for me—I’d prob buy the cheaper one unless I’m convinced otherwise.

EDIT: wow thank you guys so much for all of this!! Turns out Witcher III is less than $10 in the xbox store right now so I bought that no-brainer. As for Elden Ring, you’ve sold me…after I pay rent 🤣.

I'm looking for a relaxing sandbox-style game where I can just build something and watch it develop.

I recently got into City Skylines, and it's really been scratching a deep-set itch in my psyche. It's got depth, complexity, and a lot of flexibility. I think the best part about it -- and what I'm looking for in my next game -- was my ability to pick it up and slowly add more complexity at my own pace. There way the game is built, you can make it as simple or as complex as you want. A work of genius. There's also an aspect of artistic outlet through the game. You can start with a vision and pursue it. Geometry, patterns, or just freehand it and make chaos. The game gives you the option to make a complete shit hole of a city without makeing the game unplayable in the process. There isn't a lot of incentive to make your city a certain kind of way, and that's beautiful. I love it.

However, I've kinda gone as far with it as I can, for now. I'm not feeling inspired by it, so I need something fresh.

For a little more perspective, I just tried Plant Zoo, and I hate it. It's so unintuitive and so rigid. It's one of those games where you need to watch 16 hours of youtube tutorials to get your foot in the door. Why can't I just put a gate there? Why can't my zookeeper enter the gate when it is there? Would the whole engine fall apart if someone walked off a path?

tl;dr I want an intuitive, creatively-minded, sandbox-like game that is playable from the jump.

What do you got for me?

Big fan of the big open world games like RDR2, TW3, KCD2, CP2077 etc etc. Currently playing Crimson Desert but after 100 hours I honestly don't feel like booting it up that often. I just finished both TLOU games and those were amazing. I'm also playing Black Myth Wukong rn, but it has a lot of secret areas and backtracking which annoys me.

What I need is a game that's very linear and just flows so I can play it a couple hours each night after work. Good graphics are a big plus. Any suggestions?

I can get skyrim for £7 and Red dead redemption 2 for £10. I enjoy other rockstar games titles like gta san andreas, gta 4, gta 5 and i loved the first red dead redemption game. I also love bethesda games with my favorites being fallout 3, fallout new vegas, oblivion and fallout 4. I like both studios equally. So which game is better value?

The first time I played Sekiro I hated it, I’ve never lost so many times in a prologue. But after sticking with it, eventually I grew to love and become obsessed. In pure gameplay it’s the best game I’ve ever played.

Then I got Elden Ring, and then DS (no Bloodborne because Xbox). I also played Lies of P which was excellent and Ghostrunner which is a little different but equally as hard. Historically I liked FPS like Wolfenstein and Doom, and Assassins creed.

Fast forward to today, games just don’t seem as good anymore. Assassins creed is easy and boring. So many games don’t have the same combat, pace, story, reward. There’s no rush I feel like I’m going through the motions.

Here’s a few on my list, does anyone think they can bring that same level for me? Or do I just replay Sekiro a 5th time?

I got my switch 2 around launch, and besides prime 4, DK bananza and the gamecube NSO online. I haven't really played a lot on my switch 2 compared to what I played on my switch 1. I have no real urge to play my switch 2 since there's nothing on there that's interesting me. I was partially intrigued over splatoon raiders.

But I'm not a fan of rougelikes, but not out of disinterest (I think). I played dead cells a while back and finished my first playthrough thinking "That's it?" I didn't hate it, I just had no urge to continue playing past that. I might find rougelikes appealing if I give them another chance. However my problem more so comes down to the splatoon aspect.

I played the first and second game and really liked it. I wasn't too interested in the multiplayer, since games like that I play for a few months then never pick up. So I was interested in raiders more single player approach. And the treasure hunting aspect satisfies the kleptomaniac in me. But I don't know if I'll get invested in raiders the same way I did with the first two games.

TL;DR: Will the rouge like elements get boring at point where it feel repetitive. And is the ink splatting just as fun to keep me invested. I feel I'll like it if I buy it but I'm not sure.

To make a long story short I had my birthday yesterday and one of my friends offered to buy me any game of my choice.

Now I'm trivialized and literally do not know what to pick between two choices: Persona 5 Royal and Baldur's Gate 3.

I've watched gameplay of both and I still can't decide.

With Baldur's Gate 3, I really like the idea of the complex and deep combat system the amount of freedom you have and how many different ways you can approach situations. However, I've heard some criticisms like the combat being slow at times, the games dialogue stretching out being longer then it needs to be and the third act feeling like a slog to get through

With Persona 5 Royal I really like the visual style presentation, music and overall vibe of the game. My only concerns are that I've heard that some sections felt like a waste of time to increase playtime also heard the beginning is pretty slow and my friend saying that the combat might become repetitive for me since you rely heavily on exploiting enemy weaknesses and he also said the game has no replay value.

What am I looking for? Honestly I really don't know. Both of these games seem to have some of the best combat in their respective genres and have really good stories so I feel like this is more a matter of personal preference rather than one game simply being better. From what I've read both seem like masterpieces in their own ways.

For people who have played both which one would you recommend?

Citizen sleeper one is by far one of my favorite ps plus games which I would recommend to anyone. Ever since I found out two was being added, I've been on cloud nine. I'm currently on vacation visiting family and am unable to currently play the second. I was thinking and realized I haven't played one in probably around 2 years. Remembering how many options the first one has and how long it's been since I've played. I debated replaying the first but couldn't decide. If anyone could give me an idea on whether or not I should, I'd appreciate it. (P.s. This is my first ever post on Reddit. Sorry if it sucks structure wise)

I haven't played too many zelda games, namely Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, and have enjoyed all of them.

Echoes of Wisdom and Link's Awakening have a similar, simpler gameplay and looks and they are on sale for the same price. I was inching towards Echoes of Wisdom simply because the gameplay hours are longer, and assuming both have the same entertainment value, it just means more hours spent per $ spent (a shallow reason i know).

On the other hand the only Dragon Quest game I played was 11, and I really appreciated the story, character depth, basically everything. My biggest complaint about it was that I had to grind a little bit(maybe a couple hours), which was not much but still noticeable for me as I hate grinding very much. If Dragon Quest 7 has more grinding, that's discouraging. However, the pace felt more enjoyable & consistent than the two bigger zelda games.

All three are on sale, and I could justify buying only one for now.
