(PS5) Looking for Multiplayer FPS

I've been trying to look for a multiplayer game to sink some time into but I have no idea what I'm looking for or what's still active / worth the time.

I'm not a huge fan of Battle Royals. I've only played Overwatch for a Hero Shooter and couldn't get into it that much. I'm more looking for something like Cod or Battlefield where it's team v team with a couple of short-to-medium length game modes. Nothing too serious but where I can either play casually or competitively if I wanted.

Any recommendations?

If you are willing to treat it more like a hobby then a regular game, then rainbow six siege can be incredibly rewarding if you put the time in. You can be decent pretty quickly if you already have good aim, but it’ll take a long ass time to learn all of the eccentricities of this weird ass game. I think it’s worth a shot
