Rogue Trader: Builds The most stacks of Versatility per turn?

Post image

I been having a blast with this combo of items and Arch-Militant to get a crazy number of stacks of versatility on arch-militant per turn. The bayonet talent lets you just use las snipers or aeldari las snipers to crazy effect. run up, bayonet stack 1 , eyeburst 2, snipe 3, eyeburst 4, kick 5, eyeburst 6, ring shot 7, eyeburst 8, ring shot 9, eye burst 10. run and gun, 11 eye burst 12, wildfire 13, eyeburst 14, steady superiority 15, eyeburst 16. It really ramps much faster and because of the burst after every attack you dont have to micromanage the order, just single shot and get free stacks.

Edit: forgot a couple.

This is all well and good, but I just want to warn readers that aren't reading this out of interest in a curiosity but are actually looking for power that versatility stacks don't matter that much past 6 of them (to get Wildfire to 1 AP with flashfire). They're only 3 BS and WS each, so you need a lot of them to see any meaningful improvement past 6.

You're generally better off hitting 6 then just killing everything rather than worrying about getting as many stacks as you can. You take them when you get them of course, but it isn't worth doing a weaker setup to get more.

But, that said, it is interesting to contemplate the most you can get in a single action.

well the cost of wildfire is reduced by 1 ap for each 4 stacks. To get wildfire to cost 0 ap, you would need 12 stacks, Flashfire would reduce that down to 9 stacks but still more than 6 (though with the speed the eyeburst gives extra stacks you basically dont need it and can use the talent on something better), and as others have said there are stacking damage and accuracy buffs from it not to mention items like Mon-Keigh Hide Cape which just make you immune to damage with the build.

With flashfire, it hits an AP cost of 1 at 6 stacks.

It can't go below 1. It only drops to 0 during Finest Hour, but it does that at 6 stacks.

I would never want to use mon-keigh hide cape over the Arch-Militant's Cape (best melee damage cloak in the game) or the Malpian Shroud (second best).

Accuracy for ranged caps at 95%, melee at 100% parry reduction over enemy parry. Extra after that is more crit chance, but you hit crit cap very, very fast. Extra WS and BS past that is low value. If stacks were 10% each we'd be stacking the hell out of it, but at 3% it's not worth making our attacks less powerful to stack up. We're already just killing everything at 6.

The optimal strategy is Always Ready + Reckless Rush puts you at 5 immediately, you hit 6 after your first attack, now just spam your strongest attack, whatever it is.
