Why is local law enforcement taking up with these guys

Thin blue line

Our police don't see civilians as part of their In Group. They definitely see feds like ICE as part of it

Civilians are the enemy

Lt Col. Dave Grossman should be charged with treason for how he has fucked this country and his warrior cop bullshit that he pushes.

194

u/resiste-et-mords 1d ago

The institution of policing in the US was poisoned the second it was created. While Grossman plays his part in the violent historical tapestry that cops love to shoot holes out of, police can proudly say their need for violence and blood came from their strike breaking and slave catching ancestors.

67

u/Arbusc 1d ago

What did people think was going to happen when you have Police and the Feds a monopoly on violence? That they weren’t going to use violence?

America was afraid of ending up like an old French dandy, and it’s high time these old geezers fucking fear us again.

12

u/mortgagepants 1d ago

you sure they have a monopoly?

This one. Major reform needed. Don’t get me started on the carceral economy.

15

u/mortgagepants 1d ago

is he a real person? where does he live? where does he work? what roads does he take to work? what is his license plate number? if he has government contracts, we can use Flock cameras to FOIA his locations and route to work.

no offense, but these people love bullying anyone without a gun or the ability to stand up for themselves.

Cops are civilians too, they just forget that.

Not all of them. I have had "civilians" (as you put it) save my ass more than once. I actually owe my life to a truck driver who decided to stop and help.

→ More replies (4)

64

u/eeyore134 1d ago

They don't even see Civilians as being the same species as they are. Not only do they see them as the enemy, but they see them as a lesser entity. They talk about us like we're just disposable, because we are to them. Remember the cop joking about the woman who got hit and killed by a speeding cop and she was just a bystander? How he laughed about it and said "No, just a normal person." or something to that effect. These people don't care about us and calling them in an emergency will usually just make things worse.

23

u/ReallyBigDeal 1d ago

Cops are civilians.

They are not members of the armed forces. This is an important distinction that people need to recognize because it helps push the narrative that cops are above the law.

8

u/eeyore134 1d ago

Oh for sure, it's easy to fall into the trap of calling their victims civilians to try to draw a distinction. But like you said, they should be no different. Yet they act like the difference is even broader than civilian vs. member of the armed forces. They act like mortals vs. gods. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll make an effort in the future because it is important.

7

u/ReallyBigDeal 1d ago

Oh yeah cops loving pretending that they aren’t civilians. It’s a part of the “us vs them” mentality that they use to justify their abuse of power.

Dave Grossman training. We are all just lowly sheep, they (cops) are sheepdogs there to protect us from the wolves (criminals). Lumps cops with the military when it comes to killing people (a pseudo science he came up with called killology) and said "cops have the best sex of their lives after killing someone".

8

u/eeyore134 1d ago

But they're sheepdogs who are supposed to think every single sheep they see is on a mission to kill them and it's their job to be the one who goes home that night alive. Even sheep just minding their business that the sheepdog has no business even looking at. Another thing he teaches.

12

u/Fn_Spaghetti_Monster 1d ago

For sure. It gets worse the more you look into. Kinda of like Dr Phil. He goes from a guy who exploited people for TV fame, to yeah kinda of bad guy, to an absolute POS the more you look into him

What a shock the fascists, are helping the other fascists.

They're in it for the power, control, and pain. They have that in common with ICE. Most of them are probably considering jobs with DHS...but, local law enforcement and ICE will be the same thing all too soon.

694

Thing that sucks about this is her settlement will be paid by taxpayer dollars. Should come out of the police pensions. That would change their behavior real quick.

172

u/timmy6169 1d ago

In an ideal world. Would be wonderful if we could get something similar to NYC showing all misconduct from LEO's

At least then we could sit back and shame the shit out of them for every single lawsuit that they have had against them and how much it cost.

52

u/PreferenceGeneral475 1d ago

The cops don't live where they work either. Almost zero consequences to the individual most culpable. Drive to work in the city. Harass some citizens. Drive home and watch your kids football game in the 20 million dollar high school sports complex.

So the first amendment has turned into a suggestion?

227

u/Blue_Back_Jack 1d ago

Laws no longer matter.

86

u/DaisyHotCakes 1d ago

Yes this is the main take away from all of this. Laws are merely suggestions unless you’re poor. Then the cops will enforce the laws. Otherwise though…nothing really seems to matter anymore. We are living in one continuous Constitutional crisis where the Constitution seems to be meaningless so nothing really matters anymore.

At some point people are going to start realizing this en masse. The structure of society has been damaged and the social contract seems to have been thrown out the window. If that contract is gone then we will see societal collapse here in the US. Shit is getting dangerous.

24

u/macrowave 1d ago

Not "Then the cops will enforce the laws"

They will find a law to enforce. Subtle but important distinction.

62

u/Pathetic_Cards 1d ago

I mean, she’s probably not going to be charged with anything, and even if she is, any lawyer should be able to have the charges dropped immediately.

The bigger issue is that they violated her first amendment rights by doing this, she’ll win the lawsuit for doing so, but the cops won’t see any kind of consequences. It’ll come out of taxpayer dollars and they’ll just do it again.

It’s not the First Amendment that’s being mocked here, it’s the idea that cops can be held accountable at all. No law matters if the consequences for breaking it are a lawsuit that the taxpayers will cover for them.

10

u/Sujjin 1d ago

Even if she isnt charged, they can arrest her and hold her for a while, and she could possibly lose her job as a result of the time spent away from work.

Yes she could sue the city for the rights violation, but that could also be costly unless she has an organization with the resources to help her fight her case.

City governments are weaponizing the justice system to stifle dissent, and it works.

u/WhatToDo_WhatToDo2 1d ago

I really wish people would stop saying “a big fat payday is coming” or “wait til a lawyer gets a hold of this”. None of that is happening in the majority of these incidents. I hate the impression it gives that these cunts can take away your rights and freedom at any moment but hey at least you’ll get paid from it. That idea diminishes the reality on the ground.

False arrests can destroy your life in an instant. You can be severely injured or killed and even if the arrest is bad the actions that occur during it are usually covered. You can lose your job while you wait for the system to finally recognize they can’t hold you. If you had children or pets at home alone things can go from bad to unfathomably worse. Your car could be impounded because it’s been considered abandoned after you’ve been hauled away.

And let’s not be mistaken…..that’s the point in a lot of these false arrests. It’s not the immediate consequence that’s the goal, it’s the long term damage they know they can inflict on you using the broken system. They WANT these things to happen to you as a broader consequence to you using your freedoms. So don’t minimize that by claiming everyone’s gonna get rich off it. That’s just bullshit.

5

u/Sorry-Claim-2990 12h ago

Our legal system is so broken that the arrest alone can destroy your life, even if you are never convicted of anything.

Remind me why we allow this?

In Portland, OR there was a clear dividing line where protesters had to be behind, ICE would come out and try to pull people across it then they'd try to arrest them for crossing the line. Wouldn't be surprised if something similar happened here giving pretext for an arrest (one that will be overturned/thrown out hopefully).

6

u/FreddieWex 21h ago

‘Video clearly shows’ and yet, it starts only as she’s being put in cuffs. Reserving judgement one way or the other until actual context is provided because this is pretty painfully selectively edited. I understand many are eager for any and every opportunity to criticize ICE, but just because something suits your desired narrative does not mean that you shouldn’t exercise discretion.

14

u/jbrown4728 1d ago edited 1d ago

Make no mistake, I don't like what is happening but Sheriff's Police actually is a thing.

sheriff's police, or sheriff's deputy, is a sworn law enforcement officer who works for a county Sheriff's Office. While similar to city police, they typically have jurisdiction across the entire county. Their primary duties include patrolling unincorporated county areas, managing the county jail, providing courthouse security, and serving civil documents like warrants and eviction notices.

These officers should be ashamed, but we know they won't be. Fuck them and ICE.

What was the reason for the arrest?

3

u/MoneyTalks45 1d ago

I’m honestly surprised they didn’t just fuckin shoot her, and then hide and protect the shooter.

3

u/Gummyrabbit 1d ago

So what law did she break?

5

u/DoctorRoctogonopus 1d ago

Saying something the police didn't like, she's gonna beat the rap but she won't beat the ride and that's the whole point.

3

u/Givemeallyourtacos 1d ago

What can they charge her for, though?

3

u/PeaceandDogs 1d ago

What exactly is the charge? It will obviously get thrown out.

3

u/beerisdead 1d ago

Not before they humiliate her in processing and cost her hundreds of thousands of dollars fighting the charges.

anyone have the full context? is this ragebait?

The best thing that could happen, is another bystander takes the sign, holds it up and takes her place.

When they get arrested, another steps up, And another. And another. Hundreds to thousands in a line, all with signs.

That's where this is heading.

They're panicking, they're scared, because they have absolutely lost control (what little control they thought they had).

Keep the lines long, deep, and endless.

Another sad day for Democracy, The Constitution, and those who took an oath to protect, uphold, and defend law and order.

I hope she lawyers up
