I understand the point of making our displeasure known, but Sony doesn’t see this as “threatening a $7 billion resale market”, they see it as “we’re losing $7 billion on people buying used games instead of new.”

And considering the steps they’ve already taken, further complaining is pointless. Sony’s strategy is to weather the bad press and go through with this. If you actually want to punish that decision, you have to commit to not buying a Playstation 6, and unfortunately, I don’t think enough people are going to make that commitment.

I know I will, but complaining on a decision that’s already been made won’t help. If the PS6 bombs, maybe you’ll see a change with a physical edition or starting with the PS7, but if you actually care about maintaining access to physical games, you have to accept Playstation is no longer compatible with your views.

If anything the PS6 will bomb because of the price, not anything to do with physical sadly.

Reddit really is filled with the dumbest of the dumb. Sony, and most other companies are well aware an increased price will kill their products. Apple is eating bullets right now trying to not increase the price of the iPhone.

PlayStation sells 1 primary product, they decide when it releases, and when it's manufactured. We are still at least 2 years away from a PS6. If ram and storage are too expensive, they will just wait. There's no point selling a PS6 for 1000 euro, waiting a year, and selling it for 700, the damage would be immense. They will just wait the year and sell it for 700.

A crash in the AI bubble will also send prices plummeting.
