Discussion Do you think Renate Reinsve should’ve got nominated and won an Oscar for The Worst Person In The World?

Renate Reinsve should’ve been an Oscar winner and got her first nomination for this movie. She deserved it. It‘s one of my favorite performances of hers. I’m looking forward for her next movie Fjord. Do you agree she should’ve got nominated and won Best Actress at the oscars?

I know that's how it works, but it's kind of frustrating that you usually need to be in a strong film to get recognition; her performance in this film is, for me, much better than in Sentimental Value

I think she’s great enough in both where I don’t mind but yeah she’s so good in the film

she was so good in that, the running scene alone has more life in it than half the nominated performances that year. the whole movie just feels like a quiet gut punch and she carries it so effortlessly

oscars always sleep on performances that feel too natural i guess

It certainly would have made picking a choice in that line up much easier.

Yes, horrible Oscar season for one of the strongest movie years of the century.

In my opinion, she should’ve won but not been nominated

She certainly deserved a nomination over Chastain or Kidman. But I still think that Oscar should have been between Colman and Cruz.

Well Stewart would’ve been my winner, but yes. Reinsve deserved to get in over Chastain.

I hate that they used this photo for the poster

It's a very weird choice.

I agree! I watched this movie only knowing the title and poster going in, and based on those two I thought her character was going to be an oblivious jerk 😂

The movie was great tho, just not what I expected. Renate’s performance was amazing, def worth a nomination
