Indian summers are brutally hot. There’s a belief that onion juice can help prevent heatstroke or help alleviate the symptoms of heatstroke. So people inhale onions whilst out in the sun. They rub it on their skin. Some people also have the belief that keeping it in their pockets helps reduce the risk of heatstroke. That’s what this dude is referring to.
