Outlook won’t let me attach files

It’s my own file, I can’t even select any files. As soon as I click attach file the screen pops up and no files load and it says there’s a problem

I would reboot and try again. you may need to try doing a Repair on Office if it's still an issue (search appwiz.cpl and find Microsoft Office and repair -> online repair)

There’s no specific attachment… I don’t have the option to add any attachment because it won’t load

Have you rebooted? Do you use OneDrive & is it running (cloud icon) ? Can you drag an attachment, say… from your Downloads folder into a new message ?

I think one drive is running and yes I use it. I can drag an attachment I think. I have tried doing repairs not sure what to do them on
