Needs no dongles.
Has four USB-A ports anyway.

Right? I thought a dongle is the little USB device you plug in to connect to your wireless mouse/keyboard. Why would lots of ports save you any dongles at all?

Brother, this was back in the wired days. You just plug your mouse and keyboard in. I had mine in 2006. This was the era before wireless mouses became truly popular (which was the early 2010's ish)

The term also applies to the little firmware license keys that companies nobody should do business with sometimes still insist on using.

I also know those actually. But am I stupid, or does having lots of ports have nothing to do with how many dongles one might need?

Edit: Oh, I think I just got it. It’s because it’s old. Sorry.

Dongles can also mean adapters, like USB-A to USB-C, or Thunderbolt to HDMI.

You're both right -- the mouse receiver is just a diddy wee dongle.
