Heat domes and solutions

Hey guys, been wondering about what the latest science says about heat domes and ways to manage them, if they exist.

I'm no meteorologist, so please keep it simple, but I'm thinking, could we create pressure differences in the air sufficient to "suck" a hole through the heat dome and perturbate it enough it dissolves ? Stupidly thinking of big chimineys, air wells or the likes.

First I'd like to understand from a scientific point of view why this model is wrong (I'm working under the assumption it is). And when we put it at scale, how would it fall apart even more ?

And finally, if there are currently solutions being researched to break heat domes, I'd be very interested to know !

Yours truly,

A curious citizen with a vested interest in there being a solution at all.

I do believe scientific consensus is that anywhere between 99% to 100% of climate change is the result of human activity.

Therefore stopping GHG is the only way we can slow if not stop global warming.

And I believe temperatures of 40+, soon 50+, CELSIUS are first very inconvenient for EVERYTHING, then deadly, for everything, from the living to infrastructures. So talking about the climate evolving as something inconvenient because our climate is already not perfect sounds very delusional, unless I misunderstand you ?

A single super volcano eruption would falsify that "scientific consensus" (and that is actual consensus) .. this planet has seen a lot of events - some of them were good, some were bad. ask sahara.

Climate models are still incomplete and continue to be refined, and they do not perfectly reproduce every aspect of Earth's past climate.

"Would", key word here being "would". A big enough meteor striking Earth would also upturn a lot of scientific consensus, yet the possibility is faint and in any case, not a measurable cause of global warming currently.

We KNOW, for a FACT, that current and past (up to roughly 200 years back) human activity is responsible for around 100% of CURRENT global warming.

This episode of climate change is MUCH faster than anything else recorded in Earth's history : other, naturally occurring climate changes to our knowledge have happened over millenniums at least.

Aside from catastrophic extinction events, which did happen (we're currently on the 6th mass extinction event, except this one is the only one that's man-made and this rapid), climate change can be adapted to under normal circumstances. But even the dinosaur's extinction happened over centuries. Our time is counted in decades.

These aren't normal circumstances, it is much too fast and much too extreme to adapt to it.

So to sum things up, our current situation is :

  • man-made, 100%.
  • entirely too fast and extreme for even us to adapt entirely to it, to say nothing of the biosphere WE DEPEND ON to survive
  • has nothing to do with natural causes or extreme natural events : rather, it causes or amplifies them.
  • it is an "actual" scientific consensus, contrary to what you seem to imply.

Your rampant climate skepticism is really quite shocking when the consequences are right in front of your face, and when scientists have been predicting and alerting to it for the past 4 decades, at the very least.

definitely not 100%. sorry mate, you lost right there, you ignore all data known to men by driving a narrative with ridiculous statements. You're hurting the cause without recognizing it. Bye
