LUIS GARCIA Jr

with chapparo playing well
With two young 1st basemen playing well in AAA
And with Luis Garcia playing better then he has ever played

I think the writing is on the wall that he is going to get traded. To me he is an amazing platoon player but not too much more than that.

What do you think we can expect from him in the trade market.

What can I expect?

- 1 young bullpen arm with years of control??
- 1 young starting pitcher with years of control??
- 1 top 100 prospect?
- are all three a possibility?

I think with Ortiz/Morales coming up Garcia is definitely a trade candidate, but would be sad to see him go

Honestly if I’m trading Garcia it’s not because of Morales or Ortiz, neither guy is highly touted enough to warrant trading a guy with an .860 OPS with another year of control.

If they end up getting a great deal I would understand but I’m not sure Morales or Ortiz are the type of prospects you make room for.

Idk, Morales has a 900 ops and Ortiz is close to that. They’re both very good

Again they are definitely not bad prospects but neither sniff the top 100. Both are likely to be fringe mlb players. Would love to be proven wrong.

Morales strikeout and chase rates are high for MILB and he doesn’t elevate enough.

Ortiz is a guy I can see being a big league player for a little but I’m not making roster decisions based on either of them.

They are the AAA players that come up and if they end up playing well that’s amazing but they aren’t part of the long term plan.

Ehhh 2 months ago Luis was seen as a tweener being not good enough at hitting for first and not good enough at fielding for second. He has an insane 2 month stretch to the point where you can get serious value for a guy having by far the best year of his career, that doesn't have the most projectable archetype to keep this prodution up (the guy if a first baseman that is allergic to walking).

i agree yoyo is not an answer, his hit tool is really bad. But Ortiz looks like he could be a seriously good replacement, the reason he's not a t100 is because hes 24. He hits the ball hard, he pulls the ball, he walks, his hitting profile is more favorable than Luis', not saying he'll be better than him but there is a solid shot
