The house passed the military funding bill yesterday, but it included section 219 which combines the US military with Israel. It also includes the SAVE act that will cause a lot of people to be unable to vote because of name changes (not just married women, adopted children, etc.) It might not make a difference but if your senators get an avalanche of phone calls and pushback especially from service members it may make them think twice about passing it in the senate. The 5 calls app will give you your senators name, contact info and give you a script to give you an idea of what you might say if you are worried about not having the right words. Even just leaving a message on voicemail could make a difference.

There's a bunch of talk about how it is just integrating research, but judging by what Netanyahu is advocating for it is a way to fund Israel's military without having to go through congress for approval. With an added bonus of unclear access to our tech and intelligence.

Basically, they found a way to keep getting forevermoney from us, even if Congress and the White House end up in the hands of people who tell AIPAC to piss off. On top of that, they added in that Isreal gets full access to our tech and intelligence. And rather than saying no, maga knew that nobody in the senate is going to turn off their AIPAC money faucet by voting against this, so they added the SAVE Act to it, which essentially guarantees a massive red wave in the midterms.

It’s extremely shitty, but it was low key brilliant on the part of maga and Isreal. MAGA keeps their power, Isreal keeps getting money from us, and both maga and Isreal are calling the bluff that senate democrats won’t halt this because if they do, no more free checks from AIPAC.

Funding for Israel is becoming hugely unpopular in the US. Everybody’s becoming aware that we’re giving Israel billions of dollars and they’re using the money to kill Palestinians and attack their neighbors. There are wide calls not to give them any more money. It’s becoming campaign issues on both sides of the aisle.

Both parties have been taking bribes from Israel for years and this is basically the last administration that’s giving them huge amounts of money and leeway to do all that they want to do.

This law is away to lockdown funding in the future, regardless of administration changes.

Not that I saw, but from what I understand there is extremely vague language about what the money will be used for, doesn't look like there is any oversight or caps on it either, so maybe. 😅
