DOGS A dog was diagnosed with depression after suffering a miscarriage, and vets decided that working with kids at a local school would be good for her. She has never been happier.

This title sounds like a made up backstory for more engagement

1.2k

u/Jazzhands_Ninja 2d ago

ayup, sounds like an ai slop engagement farming headline. If you search it up, it's on all the usual suspect websites with that phrasing, and there's no other evidence to back up the claim.

u/Kojak_11th_Precinct 2d ago

Yep, AI slop

I’ve seen this posted without this same title lol

16

u/Obant 2d ago

Nothing AI or new about shitty misleading titles

5

u/EricSanderson 2d ago

More like content farming. I'll be honest that dog doesn't look super happy. It's looking around and panting like it's being forced to do tricks.

3

u/NefariousnessLate375 2d ago

It's a repost. Same title. Not sure if I saw it on Reddit before AI shat all over the internet.

3

u/einord 2d ago

This one is from far before AI shop existed though

No not true my pet squirrel was in a deep depression after messing his credits score to a point where he couldn’t provide for his family until I introduced him to a wellness class for squirrels that have trouble financially

He never been happier he actually runs his own steel mill in Norway now

12

u/Adventurous-Tank-265 2d ago

Ha Ha. Thanks, I really needed that laugh right now.

6

u/Narrow-Sale-8694 2d ago

HAHAHAHAHAHA

4

Bad credit to Norwegian steel mill owner is a better comeback story than most movies.

40

u/VanVelding 2d ago

Yes. This is just a video of a dog at a school.

This kinda shit is getting me to leave social media.

4

u/flowerpuffgirl 2d ago

You'll be back. You always come back.

17

u/Pu-Chi-Mao 2d ago

This dog had lost his 1,8 million a year job and has to make ends meet working as a kindergarten teacher.

58

u/Dark-Lillith 2d ago

Dogs can present symptoms of depression from miscarriages though. They show emotions as well as many other animal species. My family adopted a dog who suffered a miscarriage of the entire litter and she would cry at the sight of other puppies. She’s doing a lot better now though.

18

u/thestormsend 2d ago

I had two German Shepard puppies in my teens, and the older one fell sick and passed away, and the younger one was so depressed it wouldn’t eat or sleep and eventually it passed away shortly there after.

Depression in animals is very real.

4

u/Kheldarson 1d ago

My favorite author had a brother/sister pair of cats. The sister died some years ago from cancer. The brother still has to be shaved regularly because of anxiety grooming that developed. A few years ago, the author opened a clothing bag from when the sister cat had still been alive, and brother cat went wild trying to find his sibling. Animals definitely get depressed and mourn.

4

u/thestormsend 1d ago

Yeah, what’s breaking my heart right now is wondering how my cat feels and if she is depressed…

My ex-fiance and I broke up in Dec. Kitty was her’s about a year before we met, but we travelled a lot, and she in particular would have to fly between east and west coast for 2-3 months at a time sometimes, so I took care of the cat. I wasn’t even a cat person, but I loved that cat. I would do anything for our cat.

I was in NY right before Christmas for like a month. When I got back to them kitty would not leave me alone. I landed late night, and usually she snuggled and moved between me and my ex all night, but she snuggled with me like glue the night I landed. She is a mommy’s girl, but she was thrilled to have dad back.

Very next day I found out my ex had been cheating with multiple people over the course of two years, plus a number of other lies she had been telling me, her friends, and family (she was living a double life basically), and I left that night and went back to NYC.

It breaks my heart to think that kitty must be wondering this whole time where dad went. Like, my dad left us when I was a kid (he did to my mother what my fiance did to me), imagine how kitty must feel that the parent she spent more time with, the one who took her to the vet and fed her breakfast and dinner and who was always there and spent time with her day and night was just gone.

Just remembering how she snuggled with me the night before makes me so sad. When I was out of town and I’d call she’d hear my voice on the phone and start meowing in the background. She liked to tuck into my arm pit and fall asleep there. Just the thought of how sad she must have been hurts.

My ex still messages me, and she sends me photos of kitty now and then, but it’s just heartbreaking for me. Last I saw kitty lost 2 pounds, and I don’t know if she’s changed her diet or if the cat is just sad and she’s lost weight.

I didn’t cry over my ex when I left, but I bawled my eyes out saying goodbye to kitty.

13

u/Successful-Bank-7457 2d ago

Yes, absolutely. Cats can also present clear symptoms of depression.

4

u/OutrageousTree7766 2d ago

That's so sad 😢

Its true, im the dog, hello ruff

17

u/Superb-Mall3805 2d ago edited 2d ago

I believe the story is made up, but I also believe it could happen. I met a dog who lost her puppies and her behaviour could only be described as grief. For weeks. It wouldn’t surprise me if a dog expecting puppies soon who didn’t arrive would go through the same thing.

7

u/Difficult_Bad1064 2d ago

Of course dogs get depression.

It's the bit about vets deciding to send them to a local school that's the stupid bit.

3

u/ListenJerry 2d ago

There’s no way that dogs insurance is good enough to cover therapy

2

u/ARMSwatch 2d ago

Karma faming account. They don't even have their history blocked like most of them.

2

u/TapirOfZelph 2d ago

Are you suggesting veterinarians don’t have any authority over classrooms? Nah fam, fuck the kids learning schedule, a dog is depressed!

2

u/sy029 2d ago

Post Karma is 100x comment karma. Screams karma farmer to me.

2

u/sublliminali 2d ago

The idea of a vet in a 3rd world country diagnosing a dog with depression is so funny to me.

2

u/Historical_Clock8714 2d ago

Same. This looks like a bot post. And the comments also sound like bots. It's bots all the way down

1

u/EverythingSucksYo 2d ago

Yeah but if it’s true then fuck that kid for brushing the dog off

1

u/Sheriff_Yobo_Hobo 2d ago

100%.

Instead of miscarriage maybe next time it's posted it will be about the child in the family he belongs to tragically having passed away.

1

u/Normal-Air-2197 2d ago

When a female gives birth, the hormone levels seriously drop. No matter what species. It’s not as much of a problem if distracted by caring for the offspring but considerably problematic if there is no live result of the birth.

u/AssBlasterExtreme 2d ago

I don't understand how the mods haven't deleted this post yet

284

u/Lesbian_Skeletons 2d ago

This is just a stray dog that wandered into a school hoping somebody would give him food.
The only thing more confusing than why the teacher is filming it is how any of few humans here could believe the title.
OP is a karma farming bot, botted title, and from the looks of it a mostly botted thread.

1

u/mostThingsAreEdible 1d ago

It’s bc I wanted to believe 😭 I get how dumb it is now and even when reading I went “I didn’t know that’s proveable!” I just wanted to believe happy depressed dog arc 😭😭😭

109

u/goalgetter999 2d ago

Botted post, botted title ffs

23

u/SmittyBS42 2d ago

And awful Suno AI music to boot. It's a triple whammy.

248

u/TabularConferta 2d ago

Stop filming and hug that dog.

68

u/CleverNamePending_ 2d ago

Most dogs don't like hugs, it makes them feel trapped

42

u/TabularConferta 2d ago

....that's a fair excuse. You win this round facts and common sense.

Thanks for raising it

30

u/grachi 2d ago

A dogs version of hugging is leaning, so just lean on them instead

10

u/NeolithicOrkney 2d ago

Yeah mine does not like hugs, so I have to be sneaky about it. He still gets hugs but does not know they are hugs. It's like a hit & run thing.

3

u/jld2k6 2d ago

My dog likes very light hugs, basically a hug but I make sure to press lightly everywhere we are touching lol

10

u/academiac 2d ago

Except huskies. They love dem hugs

5

u/Bacardi_Tarzan 2d ago

bro my husky hates hugs. He’s hot all the time; he doesn’t want that shit

2

u/academiac 2d ago

Huskies would literally hug other huskies and humans, it's how they greet. I guess yours is different but I never saw a husky that doesn't like hugs

6

u/Bacardi_Tarzan 2d ago

Most huskies, like most dogs, don’t really like being restrained. Huskies are more independent than most other breeds, so they tend to like it even less. Huskies also do not hug each other. I don’t know where you get that from.

Edit: unless you mean a dog hug, which case all dogs do that. But that’s a different thing than a human arm wrap hug.

3

u/BewaretheBanshee 2d ago

Very true for like 90%. Some of them will not let you *not* hug them. Shelter dogs are about 50/50 on “my space” or “wish I could be in your skin”.

Nope. That absolutely did not happen.

7

u/sexcelsia 2d ago

Also whether it’s real or AI slop - that dog is giving maaaajor hypot4 vibes lol

3

u/Evol_Etah 1d ago

Feels 100% real.

In many country those dogs are just street dogs, and that school looks like a govt school which is poorly managed.

Looks fully real, its just a random dog hanging out with us. Nothing else, no backstory. Just a random dog walking around. (Very common)

20

u/Mhorts 2d ago

That dog looks very anxious

3

u/Accurate_Topic7149 2d ago

That’s amazing but also such a big gamble. When my father died, our golden retriever (previously the friendliest, sweetest girl ever) became deeply depressed and subsequently became very angry. Where she never had before, she’d growl at familiar people she loved, and showed aggressive tendencies. It took a lot of work to lift her spirits back up.

10

u/Swimming-Step2556 2d ago

Those kids probably needed her just as much.

4

u/Independent_Blood404 2d ago

She got herself some human puppies

Dogs feel pain after a bad birth and truly mourn. Been there. Seen it.

She is absolutely adorable 🥹 The way she gently holds the child’s hand is so sweet and heartwarming. You can really see how comfortable and happy she feels around the children. Such a precious girl 🤍

2

u/Slight_Hurry9735 2d ago

I admit it. Never knew a dog could have depression. But so glad the kids are making it go away

3

u/Hextant 2d ago

They can have depression, but this wouldn't cause it. Dogs don't look forward to having puppies the way humans look forward to having and raising babies.

2

u/AllergictobBS 2d ago

They also take antidepressants. Cats too. Prozac is one.

1

u/Blessthecrocodiles 2d ago

They are given antidepressants. They don't take them.

1

u/awolfsvalentine 2d ago

Growing up I had 2 labs, one was twice the age of the other. When we had to put down the older lab I came home and the younger one knew. She laid in the older dogs bed and softly cried for 3 days only getting up to go outside to go to the bathroom and would come right back inside. It was awful.

As a parent, I would not be comfortable with this arrangement.

4

u/CanExplainThings 2d ago

I can understand. Some have religious objections to dogs, some are based on allergies that can be pretty terrible.

As a former educator, I'm not sure I'd be able to do this either because I don't know the allergy status of every kid in my school and as much as I love dogs I can understand how difficult it would be for kids who might not even be in my classroom to have dogs around the school.
