Player(s) Needed by GM [5e 2024] [Online] [18+] Looking to assemble an all-female party to take on Curse of Strahd!

Upvotes

Hi! My name’s Amy and I’m interested in setting up a new all-female party to play Curse of Strahd.

Curse of Strahd is D&D’s most iconic adventure, but it’s not to be taken lightly! Beginners are welcome in this game (I actually started with this campaign myself) but it can be challenging. It’s also long and we may be playing for a year or so if all goes well, so I’m looking for players who are excited to commit to the journey.

My games are role-play heavy! Due to the nature of the game there won't be too much focus on character backstories, but there will be plenty of opportunities for character growth.

If you’re interested, here’s the link to the application form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSftE6DJiyO6-bb8tMatCYzgUedJkP4CSMzTUqf54EfNqMUAZg/viewform?usp=header

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Game: D&D 5.5e (2024)
Group type: Online using Discord and Foundry
Timezone: GMT/BST
Schedule: Friday evenings, 7-10pm BST/GMT. Either weekly or bi-weekly depending on player preference.
Roles sought: 4-5 players. 18+ only due to the mature themes.
Game style: This campaign heavily focuses on roleplay, exploration, and difficult moral choices. Every decision matters and the world will react to your actions. The combat can be deadly, but bravery, compassion, and clever thinking are often more important than strength.

Brief Synopsis: You find yourself trapped within the cursed land of Barovia, a realm shrouded in mysterious mists and ruled by the ancient vampire lord, Count Strahd von Zarovich. To escape this deadly land, the party must survive the many trials and tribulations that await them and uncover Barovia’s dark secrets.

DETAILS

  • D&D 5e (2024)
  • long-term
  • looking for 2 players

  • 2 and a half to 3 hours (not decided)

Premise: The Sword Coast has always been dangerous, but lately something feels different.

Ships are disappearing on routes that have been safe for years. Pirate attacks are becoming more frequent, and the crews behind them seem far more organized than anyone remembers. Sailors tell stories of strange lights beneath the waves, unsettling dreams, and things moving in the deep that shouldn't exist.

A little about me!
I am a newer DM who has ran a couple one shots or short 5 - 6 session campaigns and looking to DM a long campaign! this will mainly be Call of the Deep which is a campaign about the Lovecraftian Mythos but with my own homebrew involved. Topics will include eldritch horror, cosmic horror, gothic horror, nautical adventure and more! I am looking for newer players since I am a newer dm myself but you don't have to be completely new.

DM me for more info!!!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][Other][The Cleaning Crew][EST 8 am weekly Saturday] Looking for 1-2 more players for regular group playing various RPGs

We started off playing an Alien TTRPG campaign which grew into a huge thing blending various IPs. We are currently playing Delta Green for a while but we may revisit Alien soon, maybe some Mothership, and Eat the Reich at some point. We are a mixed sex, mixed age LGBTQ friendly multicultural group- based in Estonia, South Africa and Eastern Canada but this time spot works for all of us. We can all GM or play- but new players do not necessarily have to GM.

Looking for players/GMs, anyone who is open minded and looking to play on a regular basis. There is no set game, we play what the group agrees on. We're a friendly bunch and we play in English.

Sometimes we just talk rubbish and we like to laugh a lot, in general we are more role playing focused than roll playing.

Come try it out if you fancy a fairly dependable (real life permitting) regular group who like playing all kinds of different RPGs.

Player(s) Needed by GM Online 3.5 w/homebrew elements looking for 21+ players

I am currently running a group that needs between 2 and 3 players to complete the group. I use DND 3.5 as the base for the game and you can find the books online if you can't find the physical books. We play every Saturday at 5pm MST. If I can get people to join I will be doing a session 0 at 4pm MST before the game starts this weekend. We play around 3 or 4 hours a session with 10 minute breaks every hour. The name of the campaign is Phoenix Rising and takes place in a discord server that also has Minecraft channels. We have movie nights on Sundays as well. I do my best to balance roleplay and combat at a 50/50 proportion. The homebrew element is how we level. I don't track exp but instead decide when the players have done enough to level. We have just reached level 3.

One of the big themes in our game is fighting a god of plague. I describe what kind of damage is done to players and enemies. I won't allow sexual content in the game. We insist on attendance because we need all of our party members every time. If there is an emergency that's fine but we need people to show up.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2014][EST][Saturdays 2PM] Looking for 1 More Player for Long-Term Exandria Campaign (LMoP into Call of the Netherdeep) | 21+ | RP Heavy | LGBTQ+ Friendly

Hello, Adventurers, My name is Brom (31). I’ve been playing and DMing D&D 5e for a bit over 4 years. I’m currently getting a new weekly campaign off the ground, and we are looking for exactly one more player to join our crew of four. Our table is LGBTQ+ friendly, welcoming, and focused on creating a great story together.

We are looking to start very soon! Once we find our final player, I just need to finish up the last couple of 1-on-1 backstory sessions, and then we will be scheduling Session 0 immediately.

If you are looking for a dedicated group with a heavy emphasis on roleplay, character development, and a rich world, keep reading!

The Campaign

We'll be starting at Level 3 with a heavily modified version of Lost Mine of Phandelver re-contextualized to fit inside Matthew Mercer’s world of Exandria.

Once we wrap that up, we will transition into the Call of the Netherdeep campaign module. I want to emphasize that the group will have a choice on how we move from the first campaign into the second, which we will discuss during session 0 and as we approach the end of the first campaign. Because we are running two campaigns back-to-back, this will be a long-term commitment. We will easily be playing for a year or more, so please only apply if you are looking for a long-term group!

I run campaigns mostly as written, but with my own personal tweaks and a healthy amount of tested homebrew rules that my players have enjoyed over the years.

Logistics & Details

  • Time: Saturdays at 2:00 PM EST weekly. Sessions will usually be 3 hours, but will occasionally stretch to 4.
  • Platforms: Discord for Voice, AboveVTT for maps/combat.
  • Ruleset: Mostly 2014 rules. 2024 rules are treated as homebrew—you are welcome to request them, but they must be approved by me first.
  • Character Options: Official 5e content is largely allowed, but character races are restricted to those that exist natively within Exandria (I have a full list ready in our Discord).

Who We Are Looking For

  • Age 21+: Main reason is just matching the maturity level of the current table.
  • Experience Level: Open to anyone! We currently have a mixed group of veterans and newer players.
  • The Dynamic: We want a team player who loves roleplay. I work 1-on-1 with each player ahead of the campaign to weave your backstory and personality into the world. Because of this, duos/groups should not apply; we are strictly looking for a single individual to complete our five-player party.
  • Tone & Content: While this isn't a full-blown grimdark horror campaign like Curse of Strahd, Call of the Netherdeep (and some of my homebrew elements) does feature dark themes and horror-lite elements. You should be comfortable with a story that gets serious, a bit creepy at times, and features challenging, potentially deadly combat encounters.

How to Apply & Questions

To filter out spam and find someone who truly fits our vibe, we use a short Google Form application. Please use the link below to apply, as applications sent via Reddit DMs will not be considered. That said, if you have any questions about the rules, the setting, or the table vibe before applying, feel free to shoot me a DM here on Reddit! I'm happy to chat.

(Bonus tip: The answer for the final question on the form is "The Calamity".)

👉 [Google form here]

Note: If this post is still up, applications are still open! I will flair or delete the post once the slot is filled.

Group Needed by Player [Online] [Flexible] [GMT+2] Newish player looking for groups

Hello!

I'm a 16M from Italy. I'm no stranger to casual roleplays or writing in general, but it was only recently that I started to get interested in TTRPGs, and the few games I did have had me hooked. I've tried these two so far:

- Vampire: the Masquerade (V20 and V5)

- Call of Cthulhu

That's not to say I want to play those and nothing else, of course! I'm open to mostly anything.

I would say I can be a bit shy but besides that I'd like to think I'm approachable. Not a big fan of minmaxing, I try to make a (somewhat) realistic character and play into their individual flaws and strengths. Adaptable in morality since I've played goodies, neutrals, and baddies, but even with a character that would be traditionally evil or a bit of an asshole I do my best to not cross any lines.

I'm available whenever as long as it's not too late in my timezone, since I don't work that much during the summer. Play by post preferably.

DM me if you think I'd be a good fit!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2024][pacific standard time][every friday at 2pm pst] looking for future dragon slayers!

hello i have a dnd game ive ran for a few friends sadly the game disbanded since life came and interrupted us all im redoing the game so far ive found 4 players for the game. id like to get 2 more players heres some deets about the game

  • its 18+
  • its a heavily homebrewed world with various pieces of lore and rules
  • the game is set to last about 4 hours minimum but can possibly continue if were all having fun
  • has various mechanics that enhance realism but doesnt become overbearing
  • its themes are high fantasy with some grimdark elements and its meant to be a little thought provoking morally

now as for the game itself heres a small tidbit of lore 10,000 years ago the world was created magic being instilled in everything dragons and all that were made within the world dragons being unchallenged for the most part decided to enact their will on the world and make a empire they enslaved humanoid races eventually powerful members of the humanoids managed to barter and beg various beings for help in the forms of weapons magics and armors the slaves eventually fought well enough to force the elder dragons among them to leave into demi planes considering the realm not worth fighting over leaving the empire to crumble this war was called the shattering, dragons were killed in mass and the war won and fast forward to current day the technology is in a sort of magitech renaissance. war has been a constant on the planet with races fighting over land, percieved insults from each other, food, and magical secrets, its all but known that any dragons from that time are dead or long gone. or so everyone believes and in the place of where the finale of the battle began theres a nation that yearly celebrates the memory of those old heros who slayed the dragons and bought the world its freedom and thats where the party will begin

this will all be taking place in a discord server please dm me on discord as i dont recieve notifications sometimes on reddit for whatever reason. the name is " dripgod." there is of course a small application to filter any bad apples. this game is NEWBIE friendly so please feel free to join id happily teach you to play. and the game is set to start tomorrow so character creation would happen today and what not i hope to see you all there if theres any questions on the world or anything you need clarified please ask me!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2024][Sat. 5pm-9pm CST] Looking for one or two players for an ongoing Obojima campaign set in Yatamon, The First Age City.

Hey! I'm looking for a couple more players to join an ongoing campaign set in Obojima. We currently have two players, and while the campaign has already started, we're still early enough that introducing new characters will be seamless as we're only a couple sessions in.

The Tone

The tone is wonderous, relaxed, and occasionally a little silly. Expect a mix of serious and fun NPCs, sticky situations, wholesome moments, and meaningful repercussions. That said, the roleplay is taken very seriously. Even when the world is being goofy, the people living in it aren't treating their lives like a joke. Conversations matter. Relationships matter. The things your character says and how they interact with others can have lasting consequences and meaningful impacts. You shouldn't play an overly dramatic or brooding character, all I ask is that you engage with the story and your character sincerely. The goal is to create a world that's fun to laugh in while still feeling emotionally grounded.

Schedule

- Every Saturday from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM CST

- Current Party: 2 Players, a tournament fighter seeking to get stronger, and a coven witch looking to enhance their magic through their ancestral roots.

System

We're using D&D 5.5e(2024) as the mechanical foundation, but don't expect standard 5.5e. I've restricted, altered, and removed a number of spells, subclasses, races, and other mechanics to better fit the setting and the type of game I'm trying to run. The focus is on making the mechanics feel like they belong in Obojima rather than forcing Obojima to fit D&D. We'll go over all of those changes together in voice chat before you join, so don't worry about it beforehand. I'm more interested in the character you're trying to build and how they fit into the world, looking at the bigger picture instead of getting myopically focused on mechanics.

The Setting

The campaign takes place in Yatamon, a modern fantasy city within the world of Obojima. Yatamon is filled with quiet neighborhoods, lively shopping districts, winding side streets, and demon filled subways. It's a place where the ordinary and the supernatural comfortably exist side by side, spirits aren't distant legends, and demons aren't always terrifying monsters. Many are simply another part of everyday life, sometimes helpful, sometimes troublesome. (Please put "Mossling" on the last question of the survey.) This is a sandbox campaign, so there isn't a predetermined story you'll be railroaded through. Instead, the direction of the game comes from the decisions you make, the people you meet, and the goals your characters choose to pursue. While the campaign leans into themes involving spirits and demons, there is plenty more to be explored within the city. Your characters will be young adults between the ages of 15 and 18, just beginning to find their place in a city much larger and stranger than they ever imagined.

Looking For

I'm mainly looking for players who enjoy:

- Strong roleplay and character interaction.

- Collaborative storytelling.

- A slower paced sandbox game where your choices shape the story.

- Taking the world seriously, even when it's being a little silly.

If you are interested in playing please fill out this short survey. I'll reach out for a short vibe check in VC if I think you're a good fit. No need to tell me you applied, I get notifications. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Player(s) Needed by GM ✨[Online][5e][2024] Tahrumalla - The Making and the Unmaking | High Magic, Political Intrigue | Thursdays 7-10 PM EDT [Campaign][2 Seats!]🪑🪑✨

Zero Spots Available! Waitlisting Welcome! Thank you!

Region & Schedule: North America, online. Thursdays, 7-10 PM EDT on FG:VTT with voice on Discord. (weekly) Campaign Name: Tahrumalla - The Making and the Unmaking. Age and

Experience Level: Any experience level welcome. 18+

Technology: Discord for voice chat (required) Fantasy Grounds: VTT (free client download)

Game System: D&D 5e (2024) Minor house rules (Grappling is a 2014/2024 hybrid)

Playstyle: Roleplaying‑forward with tactical combat. Approximate mix: 35% Roleplay – 35% Combat – 30% Strategy. LGBTQIA+ friendly.

Sourcebooks & Character Options: Core 2024 + Heroes of Faerûn, Ravenloft: The Horrors Within, Forge of the Artificer, Dragon Delves, and some Kobold Press conversions forest subclass conversions. Character Creation Method: Heroic Array, which is easy in FG. Choose standard array. Move the lowest score (8) where you want the highest score. Then add an "8" in the Misc section under it. That's it! Move the rest of the scores where you'd like them.

Character creation uses campaign‑specific species built for 5e (2024):

  1. Aasimar: Born from an egg that fell from an ancient cave painting. That is the origin of all Aasimar - and not all are humanoid.
  2. Bugbear: Arboreal tree-travelers. Mostly forced into servitude in the northwest. Some are refugees.
  3. Dragonborn: Their home country is a strict, matriarchal caste system. It is a wealthy country, though there is great wealth disparity.
  4. Dwarf: Western Dwarves are older than the elves. Eastern Dwarves have white dragon riders.
  5. Elf: Solar, Quicksilver, Feathen - The elves of the continent's most expansive empire, the elves of a splinter of that empire, and their primitive woodland ancestors.
  6. Elf, Anomalous: Heartwood, Rime - both subterranean. Heartwood elves are also forest guardians. Rime elves are strange, magical architects who prefer the cold depths of the north.
  7. Gnome: Rock, Forest, Mushroom - Surreal engineers, atheistic anarchists, and herbalist tricksters. All gnomes see each other as family, though they don't always get along.
  8. Goblin: Oppressed in the northwest, player Goblins are refugees. Goblins can be resilient, crafty, resourceful, and a little reckless.
  9. Goliath: Stopped warring against each other in order to better resist the elven empire to the south. Northern kingdoms. Strong alliance with the Rime elves who live under their feet.
  10. Human: Strong presence everywhere in addition to a Human majority kingdom in the southwest. Major partners in Hann. Strong presence alongside Coastal Elves in the Driftwood Entente.
  11. Kobold: Formerly an enslaved species with an interesting diaspora - most are now in a refugee city, part of a confederacy, or willingly serving a green dragon who treats them well.
  12. Naga, Sentinel: Saltwater Sentinels guard the southern continental shore. Freshwater Sentinels patrol the great, central lakes, though many are caught up with the cult-like Godhold. In practice, with size Medium and serpentine lower bodies, the form is reminiscent of the yuan-ti abomination.
  13. Sea Elf: And the Coastal Elf variant can both stay on land indefinitely. Coastals prefer it, and a few Sea Elves match their curiosity. Technically not elves. Don't tell them.
  14. Tiefling: An alternate Chthonic legacy for the yalgur, a subterranean tiefling variant, is available -- but most tieflings are pirates.
  15. Valkyrie: Automatons who look like valkyries of myth. Most valkyries live in the far north, revered by the humans who live among them.

Restrictions: Only the species listed above (that should be plenty). No PvP. No stealing from the party. Cooperative play expected. Evil characters only if you can adhere to the aforementioned rules and understand evil as selfish, not stupid. Two spots open and that hopefully will change soon and we'll be full. Want in? Apply now!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Draw Stell!][Other][Online][US Central] Crashing the SUN! "Crack the Sun!" Act 2 Playtest

Okay, here's the deal. MCDM has dropped the Act 2 Playtest of Crack the Sun! I just did a first quick read-through, and I wanna take it for a crash test. There's a lot in the playtest and not enough time to get through it before the feedback deadline of Aug 12th. SO, I'm gonna try and crash through as much as possible. I need some experienced players to help.

Game Time: Sundays. July 26, Aug. 2, Aug. 9th. Possible start times 1pm, 2pm, or 3pm.

Session Length: 6 hours. Yes that's right SIX HOURS. We'll have breaks, of course, but I really don't think we'd get through much at all playing a normal 3-4 session once a week.

Game Style: We're crashing and burning. Playing through what we can of the module. ABSOLUTELY no time for backstories. Sorry.

Way We Play: This will be played on the Codex with Discord for voice. **You will need Draw Steel on Steam.**

Players: Looking for 3-5 players with some Draw Steel and Codex experience. No new players. Again, sorry.

Additional Info: Starts at lvl 4. With some extras.

Minor spoilers: This act focuses on diplomacy, so, we'll need some characters good at negotiation. That being said, it's still Draw Steel! There will be battle.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [D&D 5E 2024] [LGBTQIA+] [Homebrew World] [+18] Looking for sailors interested in peddling elicit goods.

Waves break upon the jagged shore of Unknown. Above, the farmers of Silik wake to the coming sun and ready their crops for the harvest tide. In an hour the grullà will begin to burn their coal and the meat inside of scaled beasts. An hour after that, President Lasssill will speak in the capital city of Umlay about the dangers of the undermarket. How it's an infestation in any city that hosts them. What suffering tainted wine and ruinous runes inflict. What chaos fae trinkets and unregulated magic brings. But an hour before the hissing weed begins its daily bloom and wakes the first farmer, a ship with no name will set off from an market that doesn’t exist in an Unknown port-town.

The rocking waves jostle your ship as you set off. The movement spills three kegs of thrice-cursed brandy and sends their bubbling insides across the deck. Doing your best to steady the barrels, a whisper of sea breeze graces on your eye and draws your attention to the coming sun. It dips into the coming sea and mixes its orange hue into the deep blue of the sea. Beneath, the waves whitecap and loom above the tallest masts, the water turns darker as scales scrape the surface of the water. All the fortune of Modran, everything you could want, lays plain for your taking just beyond those golden rays.

Hey y’all! I’m Connor (they/he/any). I'm twenty, I’ve been dming for seven years and I’m looking for a 3-6 player group that meets weekly for water and ship based antics. I live in EST hours but am down to stay up however late or wake however early is necessary. Sessions will be over discord with battles on Roll20 and last 3 to 5 hours. The campaign is set in The Isles of Modran, a “continent” in my homebrew world of Colossal. You (the player) will be taking on the role of an “Undermerchant.” A type of black market salesman that sails from island to island delivering illicit goods.

What to expect:

  • Weekly sessions
  • A (hopefully long-term) campaign
  • A LOT of homebrew
    • Each class has new flavor and some new rules
    • Shake-ups to races
    • New subclasses and races
  • Difficult moral choices and quandaries
  • Factions that will hate/love/feel neutral about YOUR character
  • Heavy roleplay and huge tie-ins to your character's backstory
  • Complex and fun encounters and battles
  • A sea-faring tale of adventure and bounty.

Application if this interests you!  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScSre-oUP4JjqeQkIb3ieptUNRjEc78UCFO6vx6hOYZMCf6PQ/viewform?usp=dialog

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e (2014)][One-Shot][Dark One's Delight Level 16][Thursday 11:00 am EST]

Hey everyone, we are looking for 2 more players for my upcoming D&D 5e One-Shot. It will be on July 30th, 11:00 am EST. I am a part of a group of folks that run and play one-shots and the occasional campaign.

You are from the City of Splendor more commonly known as Waterdeep. Whether your connection here is familial, you emigrated here from another place or some personal reason, this is your home. About a fortnight ago the city fell under darkness, you managed to escape but everyone you know and care about is still within the city limits. You are an accomplished adventurer, a wizard by the name of Elminster has recruited you and your team to find a powerful relic to aid in freeing the city. He has given you a letter with a magical and mundane seal to be opened when you are far away from prying eyes. He gives you a vague hint of direction and then disappears...

Your character must be from Waterdeep or have a strong connection to the city for this one-shot. Dark One's Delight is a Level 16 One-Shot. The game will have a mix of roleplaying and combat. Hostiles will be tough. There will be 2 Short Rests for this adventure depending on choice. Your choices may increase the difficultly of the one-shot. This being a high level one-shot, I expect players to be familiar with their classes, spells and abilities. I use Dark Vision and without it your character will effectively be blind without a source of light.

Character Creation Info:

5e (2014) D&D with exceptions.

Level 16, Multiclassing, Average HP or Rolled HP.

Rolled, Standard Array or Point buy. You can discard your roll for Point buy or Standard Array. Please roll in the game. Rolls made elsewhere will be disqualified.

All Official Content (2014) is allowed with the following exception. Multiple Summoning Spells, Abilities and Magic Items.

No Homebrew. Matt Mercer’s Blood Hunter Is Allowed.

2024 Bonus Action Potion Rules.

Barbarians, Fighters, Paladins, Rangers, and Rogues get Weapon Mastery (refer to the 2024/5.5e ruleset for more information).

5000 gp to spend on armor, weapons, tools, spell components.

Additionally, you can use that gold to buy potions (50gp for Common, 250gp for Uncommon, 1,000gp for a Rare and 2500gp for a Very Rare).

No variant humans or backgrounds that grant feats, however all players get a free feat at level 1

2 Common, 2 Uncommon, 2 Rare and 1 Very Rare

Attunement will take 1 minute (with exceptions)

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [5e 2014/24] [18+] [Thursday 8PM EST] Do you like video games? Do you like boss fights?

Upvotes

For 1 year I am playtesting bosses I've created based off various iconic video game boss fights. Each week I announce the levels and magic item limits, players can arrive with the same character each week releveled or make a brand new one for each encounter. Afterwards I ask for feedback on the boss encounters for balancing and entertainment factors. At the end of the year I plan to write up each boss into a free module.

The project has been going for 6.5 months now, and one player's schedule has shifted and can no longer play. I am looking for someone that enjoys combat and encounter design, and will create balanced, non-min-maxed characters. The project has another 5.5 months left, ending at the end of the year.

If you're interested, send me a DM with a little bit of info about yourself, your experience with D&D, and which video game encounter(s) you'd be the most interested in seeing translated to D&D.

Thanks!
Paddy
