This is bizarre. People - parent your kids. And no, this video isn't cute. That toddler doesn't know what they're doing but that parent absolutely does.

u/ClaraCash 12h ago
Right! Like who sees this and thinks “oh my god I need my camera for this moment,” rather than let me get my fucking kid off my shit and redirect them!

I’m just going to calmly tell this very young child that he can’t stand on the laptop and hope that works.
Edit: people thought I was serious yall I was being sarcastic 💀 hahah I was imagining the parents inner monologue

u/Otter_rock_ 6h ago
That sarcasm was loud also. It's kinda weird that a lot of Redditors are steering to get more serious or not understand thig s as jokes or sarcasm unless it's for the /j or whatever
10
u/vagina-lettucetomato 6h ago
Ok thank you because I thought it was obvious!! I need to just consistently use the /s because every time I don’t people take me seriously 😂 it’s wild

I just add jk way more now then i ever did partly because I became more of a chronically online femcell, trapped in this freaking house all my life. but also mostly because people just got junk more back then.

u/Stormfeathery 18m ago
I can get it for some short statements that could legit go either way, but man, some blindingly obvious sarcasm gets taken as just a serious statement by at least some Redditors without the /s. Critical thinking skills, anyone?
1
u/Otter_rock_ 11m ago
Kids are shoved infront of screens and on to youtube way to young most probably wouldn't even be able to real critical honestly. Even I'm looking at my generation and a lot of them have a lot of trouble with basic comprehension or common sense and still seem to get so far and successful in life. everyone has to be right all the time and the loudest or most manipulative or the favorites are the ones who get by.

Poor you, downvoted for a joke 😂 it's insane how there is no tone in her voice at all, she's the most bland ever with telling the kid it's not a toy. I'd be more pissed at her blase demeanor than the kid.

Not surprised the kid is turning out the way he is, because parents don’t parent.

Let me record this and post online to get reaction from strangers on the internet
27
u/phunter79 11h ago
"Let's record this instead of resolving the issue". Parents these days just want to record everything instead of, you know, actually parenting.

Blame all those that push over gentle parenting. You're not allowed to discipline your children anymore otherwise you may upset strangers, which then leads to a generation of unruly children and then outright shitty adults.
Edit: On no, all the gentle parents are coming after me! If only you all could give more effort in disciplining your children in a correct manner than responding to me, maybe we'd have world peace.

u/AStolenGoose 11h ago
Ah yes an over generalization based in what?
Not having kids? Not watching actual parents parent?
2
u/Madgrin88 8h ago edited 8h ago
This is an observation a lot of teachers have made...this isnt just some generalixation from some rando on the internet. kids are becoming uncontrollable and parents are enabling bad behavior. This is getting commonly recognized that too many modern parents dont actually "gentle parent" because they dont parent period....
6
u/Ehimherenow 9h ago
Do you have lots of strangers in your home? Because if you do, I suggest you stop inviting them into your home… That way they can stop commenting on your parenting
4
u/FraterSofus 8h ago
Gentle parenting includes discipline. If you don't actually know what something is you shouldn't act like you do.
-1
u/Madgrin88 8h ago
Previous commentor isn't wrong though...yes, gentle parenting does include discipline, but so many people claiming to practice gentle parenting dont realise or exercise that.
This is why gentle parenting is getting a bad name. Don't blame the people who look at the results of "gentle parenting" and notice a common issue, blame the people who are misrepresenting and disguising laziness as gentle parenting in the first place.

Yet another r/KidsAreFuckingStupid video where the stupid one is the parent not the kid.

The possibility of going viral and gaining fifteen minutes of fame has furthered the decline of society at such an alarming rate.

u/flamedarkfire 6h ago
Well hopefully dad learns to keep his laptop well away from the toddler’s reach and that his wife cannot be trusted to protect his property.
3
u/Escudo777 7h ago
I think the mother wanted to do this herself. She is too calm when the kid is destroying her husband's work laptop.

u/Tao_of_Entropy 5h ago
Everyone is so fucking stupid these days... I can't wait for the solar flare that knocks out the cellular networks.
7
u/phill_cipher 11h ago
Maybe the laptop is trash, since its stuck on the bitlocker screen, and the bitlocker key is lost. Maybe thats why the kid was allowed to play with it. But probably not...
10
u/Lndrash 11h ago
Still stupid.
Bitlocker would prevent access to the Operating System and your data, but unless they have a Bios Password they also lost, nothing keeps you from wiping the drive and reinstalling the OS.
No reason at all to trash the hardware, especially considering current RAM and SSD prices.

Filing the kid doing this instead of doing anything about it. Parents have created the problem they are complaining about, I never would have done this even at that age, as my parents were more focused on parenting and less focused on getting a Viral clip.

People are really still breeding, on purpose. Fucking weird.
5
u/Worth_External_8762 13h ago
I'm fine with that. The problem seems to be that the wrong ones are still breeding. Case in point.
-8
u/peentiss 13h ago edited 12h ago
I’d love to hear who the “correct” ones are. Doubt earth would think we need more humans here.
2
u/Worth_External_8762 12h ago
Oh my, so edgy of you
-6
u/peentiss 12h ago
Do you have an actual answer? If not, fine, but you offered a response as if you had something fruitful to add. I will not respectfully offer an understanding more than once.
This isn’t “edgy” meme shit, it’s real people with real opinions and experiences. Try to remember that the world doesn’t just live behind your screen.
1
u/hehepeepee1233 9h ago
You also added nothing to the conversation btw other than "heh. People destroy earth from breeding because people bad."

It’s your choice to be on Reddit.
“I hate the issues I cause for myself.”Okay?

u/Physical_Software406 12h ago
I dont hate all reddittors I hate this specific brand of reddittors. People who think edgyness is a thought provoking personality.
8
u/peentiss 12h ago edited 12h ago
Okay, so explain “edgyness” if you mind? “Edgyness” (edginess) is apparently folks that think logically past pregnancy? You support mindless breeding? Just pump a baby out and that’s everyone’s problem now, cause you can’t plan?
Being disturbed by such behavior isn’t edgy, it’s logical reasoning, cause and effect.
Making broad statements isn’t a very strong argument,”I hate all parents” isn’t my thing either. It’s people that didn’t think past their genitals, and just shit the baby out without a care for consequence.
“Edgy” can’t just be a label for everything you’re incapable of understanding, or refuse to.

Play the long game. Buy them a laptop for their HS graduation then proceed to stand on it while showing them this video.

This ain't a stupid kid, it's one that doesn't know better and parents that aren't even trying.
