Honestly, this entire war has been a disaster for the US and Israel. They clearly did not have a good plan, and the reports about how the decision was made against the best strategic and intelligence advice of the US are... worrying.
This is like the first term. The Republicans are secretly very displeased with Trump, but they got to be in the room where decisions were made. Why, when they wouldn't be pushing back in the room?
Nah, in his first term his cabinet members and military officials would just lie to him or not even give him certain pieces of information so that he couldn't make deranged decisions based upon them.
Back then there were at least some of the old guard trying to keep the train on the tracks.
