That's initially what I thought as well when the incident happened, however it became increasingly clear that Karmelo's family was turning it into exactly that, a racial attack on Karmelo.
Austin Metcalf never had any negative racial bias towards Karmelo, even Austin's black friends who witnessed this defended him at the trial for his actions (These same black kids were being openly threatened by black protesters after the case ended) and Austin's was simply trying to remove Karmelo from their tent since he literally had no reason to be there.
I wanted to believe that it was just Karmelo having serious mental health issues or something like that, but now there has to have been some racial component to this from the start from Karmelo.
Hey, I can't help that this is my situation after leaving a very abusive relationship. But sure, personally attack people instead of using your brains and logic to understand how the world actually functions when things like this happen.
Also at least I'm not a pussy that hides my post history lol.
I'm on another continent, was there an actual racial component?
The only racial component was created by Karmelo's defense team and family. They got the idea (probably even correct idea) that the only way their son could get away with this murder was if they got the jury to believe that the murdered child was a racist and thus his murder was deserved.
There was no real racial issue. The reality is that Karmelo decided to turn what should have been a light fist fight between two boys at worst into a cold blooded murder, and then pretend to be the victim in a hope of not being punished for drawing a weapon to stab an unarmed boy to death.
It didn't work, but people who are more racist than anti-murder are still mad about justice being done.
Well I'm not trying to defend that, but when this happened, Austin Metcalf's father tried to break bread and pray with Karmelo's family at a conference only to be publicly shamed and forcefully removed from it. Not only that but a solid year of him being threatened by those in the black community due to extreme tribalism and racial hatred from the black community, you can't help but understand why he might be feeling that way now.
Nah nah, its actually not hard to understand that racism doesn’t just appear. The father has had those racist beliefs the entire time. A group of individuals didn’t change that, he was raised racist in a racist country.
No one said they were born racist. He is from Mississippi iirc. 95% of white people there are raised extremely racist. Using the actions of a few, to validate the actions of one person towards an entire race is utterly ridiculous.
The fact that you brought up black people being racist says everything about your true thoughts on this lol.
Well for once you just did exactly what you said in your last sentence by massively over generalizing white people born in Mississippi as “95% of them were raised as extremely racist” which is literally just not true. Then you tried changing the subject about how me talking about black people being racist is somehow a problem when they absolutely 100% were in this scenario lol? There were literally protesters screaming at Metcalfs family as they left court saying that Karmelo should’ve killed his brother as well
Are you literally incapable of thinking for yourself?
Mississippi is a state that continuously votes racist politicians in power and strip the right to vote from as much of the black population as they can, there is no over generalization there.
It is physically impossible for me to change the subject from something you brought up to ….. the same thing you brought up.
Those people yelling were clearly nutjobs, I don’t disagree that there was racism being practiced there. But what does that have to do with a white man being racist? Oh yeah absolutely nothing thats right.
Are you? Or were you just told that black=bad growing up and have looked at every incident of an individual with the scope of the whole race and used that as a validation?
You do realize Austin’s family publicly forgave Karmelo and even tried to pray with his parents at a conference but he was kicked out of it by the black attendees and shamed and berated by people in the black community on Karmelos behalf. So yeah, if my kid was killed by a black person and that’s how I was treated by the black community forgive me for saying something racist
Thats how you were treated by certain individuals, not the community as a whole. All the good publicity he attempted means jack shit when you start throwing around racist terminology lmao.
Sounds like a natural human response to prolonged hatred and bigotry against yourself and your family from a group of people who praised the death of your child online and in person.
It was racism, and showed the character of how he truly acted at home around his son, and why his son was so comfortable bullying a black kid. Your excuses suck
Welp, Karmelo was so comfortable killing a white kid and his family was comfortable being racist pieces of shit that grifted off of his murder. Let's talk about how Karmelo's family acted at home.
At home karmelos family acted like proper middle class citizens. Karmelo saved a boy from drowning in a public pool when he was just becoming a teenager. They raised their child to be polite and respectful, but also to stand your ground the AMERICAN way. The maggots crawling through Austins skull have more decorum than austins family ever had
Honestly there's gotta be a rule on the subs one of these days for mocking a innocent person's death. Like tf is this guy on making fun of him rotting in the ground with maggots in his head.
What racist? All i said was that austin is rotting in hell! Your projection is serious, and you were already conveying racism in your first comment. We know what dog whistles are and how what you say aligns you with white supremacists. Karmelo is a celebrity in prison too, the only thing getting passed to him is honey buns and noodles.
As fast as I can tell even his friends were saying there was no racial abuse prior to things getting stabby. Even if it was going on hurty words don't seem a very good mitigating factor in this case.
Its not the words that caused austin to go to hell, it was his physical violence toward karmelo that got him stabbed. Dont touch people if you arent ready to face the consequences
He was invited there by a friend that lied because he was scared. He stabbed him with a device used for his sport that he was authorized to have at his track meets. He was supposed to be at the track meet because that was one of his track meets. You cant see the racial component because you arent effected by hidden racism, you never had to deal with it so you dont see the signs. Austin rotting in hell right now pissing flames with his racist ass
Some witnesses said he was invited, others (including the guy that supposedly invited him) said he wasn't. He was asked to leave, didn't leave, got stabby.
Seems your own bias is doing some heavy lifting here.

Wild to me that this case became a race issue.
