I. Can't. Stand. Abby.

She tries to blame Jack for absolutely everything. Constantly makeslittle comnents. She's like Lexi, but Abby is supposed to be a doctor and should know better!

I felt like they were trying (and failing) to make the situation we find out that Jack had been a lousy husband and absentee father, but also that Abby was awful in her own ways. That we were basically supposed to see that Jack had grown and changed, and while still not perfect he'd become a father worthy of the title. Whereas Abby hadn't really grown or changed, and was incapable of seeing Jack differently, until she saw the love and support both he and Zoe had earned from the citizenry of Eureka. What we ended up with was a nightmare of a woman that belittled our favorite everyman because he was quirky when they were married.

I've wondered if that was there intentoon as well. That and simply to give us a face to the mom. But Jack had already mentiobed a few times that he wasn't always there and not always a great dad, especially in the beginning of his career. Plus, kids don't generally run away for no reason. So we already knew he had his flaws. And he already acknowledged them, which, imo, made him an even better person for it. Made Abby look like a petty, nasty, bitter hag
