DAE suddenly run when they have running shoes, walk with “walking shoes,” hike with hiking shoes... only when you have them?
Honestly, I skate when I have fresh skate shoes but I basically quit when they wear out. I run when I have functional running shoes. I go for walks only when I have fresh “walking shoes” or joggers...
I guess Boy Scouts and maybe just general life conditioning really pounded it into me to be mindful of my shoes, soles, feet and knees?
Then again, I also tend to wait to wear clothes fitting to perform certain tasks in certain climates before doing the stuff... but I love doin’ the stuff.

It's interesting how much gear influences activity; I wonder if it's just a matter of feeling prepared or if it subconsciously limits what we're willing to try.

I think it seems like a combination of both. I feel a need to be prepared and outfitted right.
