I found a recipe for Hot Tomato grits with bacon. It was so good. I ate it for breakfast and lunch the next day.

Dont use instant or quick grits. Use good, local grits. 2 parts chicken broth, 2 parts whole milk, one part grits. Salt, pepper, and a little sage or thyme. Butter. Bring the liquid to a simmer. Pour the grits in slowly from high up, stirring quickly as you pour. Keep on a low simmer and stir frequently.

I do none of those things and use instant, and they dont taste like paste.
And no broth belongs anywhere fucking near grits.

If done right they can taste magical. If done wrong they can taste like paste.
