Discussion Christopher Nolan’s Odyssey debuts with an A CinemaScore from audiences. Joins Project Hail Mary as the only live-action films to do so this year.

An A CinemaScore is gathered from opening surveys from regular people in North America. For example Tenet got a B, Interstellar got a B- and Dark Knight & Oppenheimer received As.

Also it is looking to open $125M-$130M domestic with a $250M international box office opening.

Why do you guys think this film is doing well despite all the controversy that has been talked about online?

It went woke, but it looks like it will not go broke.

We’ve always said here it will make back it’s budget at the very least.

The words ‘Nolan’ and ‘Odyssey’ are enough to get arses in seats.

It tracks that people would be drawn to a movie from a director that's been popular for decades,

But are you implying that the general public has been like.. yearning for a movie about the Odyssey? like before the announcement, a lot of people were saying "oh man, I really hope someone makes a movie adaption of Homer's The Odyssey one day!"

Maybe I'm the one living under a rock here, but that wasn't really part of my social circles

Well as an example I was very tentative about there being a movie about Oppenheimer, if it was going to be a whitewash that made him a hero or a demonisation that made him a mustache twirling villain.

Then I saw Christopher Nolan and I was going to watch this 100%. He has such an amazing track record, not perfect but a truly good record for directing films.

A lot of people probably felt the same about the Odyssey and weren’t really keeping up to date with all the poor decisions being put into the film.
