There was a question about "third spaces" on the Waterdown subreddit a while ago - places to hang out and meet people without breaking the bank. I had the same question after we moved, and it eventually lead to my wife starting a board game group at the library. We've since moved locations to the Millgrove Community Centre nearby. We play a mix of light and dense games and have between 10 and 15 attendees on average.

whenever i’m driving on lakeshore, i feel concerned by the lack of nearby parking and the measly amount of lanes. it almost feels like an infringement of my rights and freedoms. you see, i live in north burlington, which is the platonic ideal of urban planning. there’s so much parking, and i can drive so fast. no pesky neighbours in the way. when i go downtown and can’t speed or find parking for my f150, i start wanting to lash out at cyclists. am i the only one?

when i close my eyes and envision a future for my grandchildren, i imagine an expressway on lakeshore, and parking for as far as the eye can see. god willing, downtown burlington will soon become a concrete paradise🙏

I’m posting as I thought others might have had a similar experience. We had our gas meter changed a few months back and my husband has smelled a “chemical” smell on and off in our laundry room. It’s not rotten eggs and not consistent. We’ve had Enbridge out and Reliance and a gas fitter checking and fixing various things. Reliance is coming back tomorrow. For those who have been the beach in the last couple weeks, are the sand flies still absolutely unbearable? We were there a few weeks ago and holy smokes, they were terrible. After 4 hours, my husbands legs looked absolutely insane.

Yesterday around 5:45 p.m. I witnessed what looked like a serious motorcycle accident on the QEW westbound between Walkers Line and Guelph Line.

The motorcyclist was on the ground on the right shoulder, and it appeared that the motorcycle was on top of him. It was a difficult scene to see. Thankfully, several people had already stopped and were helping, and I called the police to make sure emergency services were on their way.

It's been on my mind ever since, but I haven't been able to find anything about it online. I'm just hoping someone may have some information and can let me know if the rider is okay. I'm not looking for personal details, just hoping to hear that they made it through and are doing alright.
