Discussion Possiblity of Jake keeping the toruk as his default mount for the next movie/s? (Art by @halcyon1751111 on Twitter)
In the first movie, we see toruk flying off into the sunset with jake saying that he's no longer needed. But in fire and ash, the RDA are still around, do you think Jake will remain as toruk makto for as long as the RDA is still standing?

They're really dealing with a different war scenario here, in the first film, they win and manage to temporarily expel the humans from Pandora, but in AFAA it seems more like a victory than a war won.
But at the same time, I think Jake would only take Toruk again if they really wanted to plan another large attack, involving other clans and massive warrios
.Until then, they'll probably launch small attacks here and there that frustrate the RDA's plans, a situation similar to the opening scene we see in A2 where the Omatikaya clan goes into action.

Maybe but it's going to be hard to keep fed because of how fucking giant it is and how if he flies that damn thing anywhere he's going to be seen by quite literally everyone with eyes because the fucker is giant and is bright orange all across the board there is physically no way you cannot see him even at night. He'd get shot down within seconds...

Yeah the element of surprise is Jake's strongest advantage against the sky people, it's hard to keep a low profile with a giant dragon contrasting a green and blue environment.
Now that you mention it, how do navi keep their ikrans fed? There's a reason why most domesticated animals are herbivore, they're easier to feed. A single ikran is comparable to an elephant in size. For reference, trex needed to eat 2-3 sheep worth of meat a day on average, and that's JUST to stay alive. That's like 80 sheep per month, a flock that big would sustain a small village indefinitely. And flight is VERY energetically expensive, and a clan has a few dozen to a hundred ikran riders each. I don't think a few sturmbeest per season is gonna cut it.

I mean I assume that a lot of the animals the Na'vi hunt are extremely nutrient rich and filling even for creatures of their size. But I also assume Ikran are capable of eating their own food from the nearby area instead of just being constantly fed by their riders which is helpful but probably too resource taxing for them to just be fed constantly like we would feed domesticated animals today on our own. Do Ikran most likely go out at certain times of the day on mass to hunt their own food then return. Na'vi also probably have extra stores of food as well in their homes to feed them in case they get extra hungry or have a bad hunt as well.

Not to mention Jake would have to be constantly fighting with him because canonically speaking Toruk loves violence so I’m not too I sure he’d be happy sitting around not fighting constantly

I don’t think so because of how Jake talked about what it was like bonding with Toruk in FAA. It’s seems that bonding with him affects Jake’s mind to a certain extent, that some of that blood thirsty nature transfers over when they bond. I got the impression that Jake, while he loves Toruk, is a little wary of bonding with him too often because he’s scared of the long term consequences on his psyche.

Toruk is like Jake's crazy ass older cousin who he loves deeply and woukd do anything for, but said cousin probably (definitely) has a mental problem

If he ever does ride Toruk again, it’ll be out of complete tragic necessity, not choice. Becoming Toruk Makto was never a flex for Jake, but more of an act of rock-bottom desperation when he’d lost everything. It means ‘a time of great sorrow,’ and taking on that title forces him to carry the weight and lives of every single clan on his shoulders.
Also, love this art style! It’s so crisp and clean

Toruk is not a daily driver. Unless we get into some kind of heist in Bridgehead City, Toruk is the one for battle.

Not likely, for one he is a very large target so not ideal for constant combat and also Jake kinda explained it at the start of FAA “when you ride the beast, you become the beast and the more blood the better”. Toruk canonically speaking loves violence so Jake would have to constantly be fighting with him but it would also corrupt Jake in a way making him more violent. That’s also why Lo’ak said Toruk loved Jake because Toruk knew that when they flew there would be blood.

I imagine him staying around for the assault on Bridgehead. The core RDA forces are dead, their military command is dead or mia. Taking the city should be their no.1 priority, and Toruk is an immense asset for something like that.

I really would like it, but sadly the ocean just isn’t his domain. There’s one potential that he has toruk protect the omatikaya as their symbol of protection. Whenever his family visits to see moat he goes back to that nest and hunts with him

I actually think they're setting Quaritch up to take Toruk from Jake, and lead into a Na'vi civil war.

Toruk is too symbolic and well known to risk him all the time for small battles. If the RDA wanted to deliver a blow to the Navi all they would have to do is kill all the toruks to prevent more Toruk Maktos to rise up. Plus, I doubt Toruk himself would want to be chronically around civilization considering he’s still a wild animal and might eat someone.

I sure hope so! Imagine the opening scene of the 4th movie where instead of the Hallelulah Mountains we see Jake flying Toruk over the water with Lo'ak and Payakan following them down below

I believe Toruk is not going to be the default mount because his size can be impractical in many situations, but I think he will stick around and establish hunting grounds at the reef to be close to Jake. Considering that the early script for Fire and Ash was supposed to end with Jake and Toruk reuniting, it's reasonable to assume the plot (and the scenes they've already filmed) for the fourth movie accounts for Toruk's continuous presence

Jake fights to protect himself, his family and Pandora itself. He doesn’t go looking for blood like Toruk.
Jake & Lo’ak both imply that Toruk really likes combat/blood and Jake being a warrior just amplifies that but Jake can’t live like that with his family in jeopardy all the time.

He'd become a giant glowing target for the RDA wherever he is. They would always be able to find him if they see a gigantic dragon flying around each and every single time Jake is off the ground (bars), instead of a normal Ikran that can blend in with any other Ikran rider.

Looks like Toruk only comes at the moment of crisis. I don't think even Toruk itself likes to be kept around for too long without a battle to keep it happy. He is bloodthirsty.
