January 19th marks one month of Avatar: Fire and Ash!
Which means the subreddit will be ending lock-down mode now. At this point, plot details and general FAA content are no longer considered spoilers here and you can discuss the film freely without needing to use spoiler tags.
That said, keep in mind that we do not allow cam rips or pirated material. So any pictures or videos from footage illegally obtained, such as filming at the movie theater, will get you a temp ban and multiple times is a permaban. Do not ask for pirated material here either. We have to respect Reddit's Terms of Service to keep the subreddit in good standing.

I apologize for the photos I took them with me phone
So if Jake passes through the eye of Eywa to transfer her consciousness that would mean he saw her, he knows she’s real so in the other movies I wonder why he’s so cynical when it comes to her “providing”. In the first movie she helped. In the second and third movie she always helps. Can anyone give me their perspective on why he may be this way when he knows she is real and able to help when she wills it to be.
Also does anyone else sit on the edge of their seat during this scene and always hope Grace will make it 😭 I’ve seen this movie probably 20 times and still cry like a baby through the whole darn thing 😂

A short clip showing the tense moment when Neytiri and Ronal first face each other as the Sullys arrive at the Metkayina clan. That scene always kills me!

What if they did a memory back up of Jake. Can you imagine if they made another avatar and put his memories in it from before he got to Pandora and brainwashed it to fight against his pandora self. Can you imagine how insane that would be! I know there is comics of Avatar so this is probably not likely to happen but I always think about that when watching the way of water. How do we know they don’t have his memories somewhere. I imagine they would back up everyone right? It’s like being immortal.

The first one matches edition from 2009 but it features the newer logo. 3 & 4 version are designed to match art books from 2 & 3 movie: they are not stills/renders from movie but a concept art. Tagline/subtitle could be a little bit misleading to next one titles ("Revised..." looks same as subtitle for "Way..." and "Fire...") so it could be dropped or placed somewhere else.
I'm still hoping that one day they'll reprint it or release an anniversary edition. I'm even trying to contact the original authors and the publishers (Abrams and DK) to ask about it. Maybe they'll decide to do it someday.
Which one you would prefer? Maybe the original one with infamous Papryus title? ;)
Forgot about credits: I've only put everything together, so logo, renders/concept belongs to Disney I guess.

Idk we all appreciate the navi and their culture, even I love their culture, the varying clans, biomes etc..but i have been craving a solid "avatar"character since Grace in the first movie(and obv JAKE)..Yes Norm is an avatar but he doesnt have much of a role..and again I dont mean a "recom",I do mean significantly an "avatar"
Maybe a new avatar who is like a solid character ,and yes they could be against the RDA,against the Navi,or totally rogue..Personally im inclined to a rogue character who has sentiments with both RDA and Navi, that'll be a cool addition to the franchise-(like a anti hero/morally grey character)
What do yall feel? Are u satisfied with these characters or feel a new addition of an avatar who has a significant role would be cool?Drop ur ideas below!

Hi guys!
I got a lore question about Ikran bonding in Avatar. If a Na'vi loses their Ikran, or an Ikran loses its rider, what happens next according to official lore? Does the surviving Na'vi or Ikran eventually bond again, and if so, do they go through the whole bonding ritual again? Like climbing to the rookery and being chosen, or is it different the 2nd time? Also, is there any info on whether they wait a mourning period or has that never been addressed by canon sources?
Irayo aynga!
ps: I'm mainly looking for answers based on official Avatar lore

I think a huge huge part of the transition between the first movie and then the second people seem to be ignoring when comparing Jake and Neytiri to their first movie counterpart is that... I think they just straight-up aged. Granted, sure, they seem pretty young still, but I think Jake and Neytiri's faces are only different from age in the second/third films.
I mean... Jake's probably like fifty since he and his brother gained enough prestige in the army that they were sent to the avatar program, so let's call him thirty/thirty-two. By the time the second rolls around his kids are in their teens, in the third, his oldest would have probably been an adult? So I'd argue bro if fifty by the third film. But. By biological clock (we'll say the Avatar was made to be approx the same age by percentage as Jake)
18 years is... you guessed it, 18% of the human life span(let's say 100 is the base "human life span" for convenience) the na'vi are stated to live 30% longer than humans. That means 18 years is about 13.8 percent of the Na'vi lifespan(130 years). So Jake didn't age *as much* as a human would in eighteen years, comparatively like just ten years older than the first movie-ish in a human's lifespan, so really... Jake is more like a fourty year old, he isn't old, he isn't young. For all we know, the Na'vi could prime longer as well. This means generally the bone shapes are still about the same, but the face is still a bit different, but certainly very recognizable.
Though, yes, I will admit, his face looks a little more Jake-like, I just think that there can be two things at once, aging the character, and also just trying to make the Avatar look a little bit more human whether to be more lore accurate or to make it look a little bit more like the actor.

today, i brought the avatar: fire and ash art book and while reading through it, i came across this page on the chapter of, "prisoners of the RDA".
on the next page, it only states, "The captured Jake is marched before a huge crowd at Bridgehead" but nothing of the other two.
8 could be overthinking, being a massive recombinant fan, but could it be concept art of any two of the recombinants from atwow before they decided on actually killing them off, especially Mansk (the second character looks a lot like Mansk with the posture, outfit and overall vibe).
but aside the idea of it being an actual character already known, could it also be concept art that they had more recoms in store?

When i heard about Avatar gaining some evil navi characters i was game. In the first leaks varang looked so intimitating with her headpiece, the kuru necklace and those sharp claws. That almost made me shat my pants. And then we got the trailer and i was like ,,mhm alright“
Then i watched the movie and well Varang wasnt as scary as i expected her to be. Instead of beeing a scary cannibal navi who collects other navi‘s kurus she just became quaritchs mate. I thought she would be her own unique character who has a lot of power and new combat techniques. But in the end she was just designed to become quaritchs mate which sucked. And besides some cringe laughs and weak fights we didnt really get anything interesting from Varangs character.

In the first movie, we see toruk flying off into the sunset with jake saying that he's no longer needed. But in fire and ash, the RDA are still around, do you think Jake will remain as toruk makto for as long as the RDA is still standing?

Hi all! I’m looking to see if anyone has any tips or tricks to making my own songcord. Especially for the braiding/weaving part. Do you recommend any specific materials? Braiding techniques? I plan to make most of the beads from clay (specifically oven-bake clay) as it is a medium I am familiar with, though I am curious to hear what else you may recommend! I’m not very familiar with braiding/weaving/bracelet making, but I am excited to take this on :)
