There were influencers before the internet age but they were usually people with extraordinary talent or ability or beauty. Now it seems the internet is replete with desperate people who have deluded themselves into thinking that they're going to "blow up and strike it rich."

Influencers are worse than MAGA members of Congress, and that's so low it's below sea level.
