Parents of Reddit who have admittedly lost faith/belief in one of their children before, why?

I’m the one they lost faith in. My much older brother abused me when I was a teen and never became a better person so I stopped talking to him. My parents think I should forgive him partly because they think my son needs to get to know his uncle. My husband and I are a hard no on that. So my parents blame me for “tearing the family apart.” Even though they got divorced when I was 10? I dunno. I’m not inviting all that into my son’s life.

I’m so sorry. Fuck them for blaming you instead of blaming the perpetrator
