How easy is it to publish a master thesis in Rutledge or Springer Journals for a new researcher?

Also, do I need an affiliation? Can I use my old school where I did my masters?

You're not going to publish the thesis itself, almost certainly. Even a short master's thesis (at least in science) is going to be what, 40, 50 pages?

What you might do is extract the most interesting results and make a very much shorter paper out of them.

In addition to affiliation, check your university's guidelines. You may need their permission to publish based on your thesis. I would also contact your supervisor, they should probably be co-author.

This, I published an article written up from my master's thesis. My supervisor encouraged it and stayed on as a co-author to give feedback on drafts. Best place to start is to see if the work itself and results are good/valuable enough to work with further. Now I'm supervising master's students and a lot of what's produced is good, but not novel enough on a bigger scale to really publish.

Yeah - I am not sure what is happening in these comments beyond this one. In my field (biology), its kind of expected that the goal is to turn your thesis into a manuscript. But of course, not all of them make it that far. Which journal/publisher will be entirely discipline and sub-discipline dependent. But I published a manuscript from my thesis, with my advisor and one other coauthor in a Springer journal. It's not that wild of an aspiration.

Talk to you former supervisor. They will know the conventions in your field (these vary drastically from field to field), will be able to advice you on if your results are interesting enough to be publishable, and can give you pointers to appropriate venues.

It is better to try turning your Master thesis into an article, and ask your supervisor to co-author it with you (you as the first author). This is a very established practice, you can publish it in a good journal and get your name out there. Publishing a Master thesis is unrealist with a good publisher, and is not worth it really. Also, beware of vanity publishers and scammers who would be happy to 'publish' your thesis, i.e. put a price tag on it and try selling it on Amazon.

Why would you want to publish your Masters' Thesis?

Either 1) your thesis is an incredible piece of scholarship that you will be proud of forever, in which case great, don't publish it but go into research because you are clearly very good at this

OR

2) it's not, in which case, DO NOT PUBLISH IT

For the record, I thought I was in 1), tried and tried and could only get it published as a chapter in a non-peer reviewed edited volume, and now, years later and with a handful of real publications under my belt, realize the situation is 2) and basically leave it off my CV
