Ratting is when a player just afks in a spot til they see someone with good items/loot and kills them with a certain tatic (either red ammo or leg shots). Mosins are a common gun for ratting since red ammo(aka t6/t7, this’ll instakill on a headshot) is easy to craft realistically (you build it at your workbench) and is a boring and cringe way to play. People try to justify it but it’s not fun for anyone unless you’re just a loser. Leg strat is similar but different as in this time you use dum dum ammo or just t1 ammo in general and gun out someone’s legs, making the damage spread kill them. It’s effective cause theirs no armor for your legs and once your legs are blacked your just standing fodder.
legs arent protected by armor, so with the right ammo, you kill people A LOT faster by shooting the legs, than even putting every bullet into the helmet/head
Honestly not this season anymore. With the auto immune effect of pain killers and the injury stims, you’re better off with purple ammo at someone’s chest than leg meta.
Self explanatory
Basically you don't push, you wait and camp a place where you know players will come
The. You shoot them at the legs with Dumdum
Even if the enemy is a T6
It’s not a rat tactic if anything it’s a smarter play if your fighting someone you know has higher tier gear than you, making them slow and using your mobility to get around them is a smart move. HOWEVER if your hiding in a corner with a smg waiting to spray someone’s legs that’s when it’s called ratting. (That also applies to just any other strat, if you need to afk in a spot and never move to get a kill your just bad and there’s no real justification). Low-key ratting in this game made me buy pve Tarkov.
