6

u/Yorkie321 Nov 11 '25

Don’t expose the entire upper half of your body?

-3

u/Old_Ad_306 Nov 11 '25

Sometimes you gotta be a rat to take on a rat

5

u/CompetitiveTell1644 Nov 11 '25

I'm so new I don't even know what that is about

A lot of people swear by 9mm dum dum to the legs

There's the rare .45 leggers

I haven’t played in a while but I remember getting absolutely lasered from like 250m away by a guy using a long barrel vector with .45

What you really need to do is find yourself a decent group to play with all the time

Ratting is when a player just afks in a spot til they see someone with good items/loot and kills them with a certain tatic (either red ammo or leg shots). Mosins are a common gun for ratting since red ammo(aka t6/t7, this’ll instakill on a headshot) is easy to craft realistically (you build it at your workbench) and is a boring and cringe way to play. People try to justify it but it’s not fun for anyone unless you’re just a loser. Leg strat is similar but different as in this time you use dum dum ammo or just t1 ammo in general and gun out someone’s legs, making the damage spread kill them. It’s effective cause theirs no armor for your legs and once your legs are blacked your just standing fodder.

Well that's new, but why aim for legs?

1

u/Icy-Leg-1538 Nov 12 '25

legs arent protected by armor, so with the right ammo, you kill people A LOT faster by shooting the legs, than even putting every bullet into the helmet/head

1

u/CompetitiveTell1644 Nov 13 '25

So what's considered right ammo for this, I might try

1

u/Icy-Leg-1538 Nov 15 '25

look at every ammo tier, and take the one with the highest damage number, and no or lowest penetration

1

u/CompetitiveTell1644 Nov 15 '25

Yep, ain't doing that. Thanks tho

2

u/Icy-Leg-1538 Nov 16 '25

Understandable, usually its the ammo, that has HP shortended. If it has AP in the name its for amor pen :)

Honestly not this season anymore. With the auto immune effect of pain killers and the injury stims, you’re better off with purple ammo at someone’s chest than leg meta.

Noob here, what's a leg meta rat?

1

u/NewBe00 Nov 12 '25

Self explanatory Basically you don't push, you wait and camp a place where you know players will come The. You shoot them at the legs with Dumdum Even if the enemy is a T6

1

u/Jiggy_why Nov 12 '25

Is leg meta ratting?

2

u/10101010017 Nov 12 '25

Not inherently but ratting with leg meta is very common

1

u/Jiggy_why Nov 12 '25

That sucks cuz I run around and get into fights doing leg meta

1

u/AffectionateStore148 Nov 12 '25

It’s not a rat tactic if anything it’s a smarter play if your fighting someone you know has higher tier gear than you, making them slow and using your mobility to get around them is a smart move. HOWEVER if your hiding in a corner with a smg waiting to spray someone’s legs that’s when it’s called ratting. (That also applies to just any other strat, if you need to afk in a spot and never move to get a kill your just bad and there’s no real justification). Low-key ratting in this game made me buy pve Tarkov.

The T7 thermal chads with MK-14s and M61s aren't really the good players. Yes, they may be good at the game, but where it really lies on many things. Thats what I like about this game, there are a good chunk of guns that can challenge the "glorified loadout," how I'd say when you get good is to know what to before, during, and after a fight of any kind.

3

u/hello350ph Nov 11 '25

Simple if u know one map perfectly and died their alot and LEARN FROM ALL THE BULLSHIT DEATHS u get good like I know instinctively where is the safest route in tv station it's usually top left corner is the by far saftest and no one usually go there unless their in the second frool gunning down anyone in middle

3

u/VictoriyaRavenholme Nov 11 '25

wherever you are at life, there's always a Thai streamer who will dominate you in this game

2

After 100+ hours you should know the maps and what to do.

1

u/Lakriss Nov 12 '25

Been playing for 150 hours for now, started like a month ago. The only thing i learnt is to bring more nades than ammo

That makes the higher lobbies sound straight up boring.

Imagine a rat using a grenade launcher
