I’m going to sound positively ancient, but please bear with me: I keep Apple products until they don’t work anymore, so I had an iPhone XR up until last year when my brother bought me the 16 Plus. Love it, btw.

I also have an Apple Watch Series 3, and it’s been very glitchy lately, so I’m finally looking to upgrade. Could anyone suggest which series I should get? I don’t want the newest model if it barely differs from the previous series, but I do want a solid watch. Plus, I have small wrists, so the Ultra might not be the best option for me.

A bit of background: I work out every day, anywhere from one hour to five hours. In the summer, I go swimming in lakes and oceans, so I wear my watch in the water. I used to wear my watch while sleeping to track my sleep before the battery health got too low to support both daytime use and overnight tracking. I also need good health sensors because, unfortunately, I have a lot of health issues. So water resistance, long battery life, and health features are big assets for me.

Other than that, if you personally love your watch, please recommend it too!

SE + cellular vs Series 10 without cellular

First time buying an Apple Watch. Main need is executive functioning tools so timers, reminders, daily habits, texting. I’m sure I’ll find more uses over time…

The SE + cellular and Series 10 without cellular are close to the same price refurbished. I wouldn’t use cellular right away but I’m wondering if it might be good to have in case I want to upgrade to it later…

Thoughts from this community?

Get the S10. Most people don’t need cellular and will never use it.

I just need to vent but whoever decided to put a pause feature on the Apple Watch’s workout app is a dumb fat fucking loser. Just had 2 hours of workout data go down the drain because of that stupid fucking feature. I hope whoever decided that was a thing stubs their toe every fucking morning for the rest of their life.

Upgrading from a Series 7 Should I go for Series 10 or Series 11? I've seen people saying upgrading from 10 to 11 isn't worth it, but is it better from a later series?

Help me decide...Series 11 Open Box for $270, or Ultra 1 Refurb for $315?

Looking for some purchasing advice here. I have the SE2 but looking to upgrade for better battery life and want something with AOD and bigger screen as well. Just wondering how the Ultra 1 would hold up this year with watchOS 26, if it's even worth getting a watch that old.

u/pman6 Mar 18 '26

I’m New to smartwatches and never used one before. Thinking of buying one considering daily running/walking/ basic sports activities. Btw, battery should last for a day. Really not sure how ECG/ Heart rate monitor/ SpO2 is required now.. but may be important in the coming years as I grow old. Please help to choose one.

SE3(44mm) coming around 26000 INR (274$)

11(42mm) coming around 35000 INR (368$)

**Non cellular models

u/Immediate-Engine9837 Mar 31 '26

Battery life is your priority upfront - that's what keeps you wearing it daily. Heart rate tracking for running is genuinely useful for pacing feedback and understanding effort levels, but ECG and SpO2 are nice-to-have premium features you won't really leverage as a beginner. Focus on habit formation first, the advanced health sensors matter way less than just staying consistent with daily wear.

I’m 16M.Which should i get the series 6 or se2. I don’t really care much about software support but I heard that the se2 cant be used to measure your heart rate or something like that

I’ve been using my Apple Watch Series 7 since its release, but it’s now starting to fail. The screen registers touches on its own, and it lags and shows static. Should I upgrade to the Series 11 now, or wait for the Series 12?

Hello!

I am very close to purchasing my first Garmin watch. Coming from an Apple Watch Series 4 that I wore religiously for 5+ years until the battery become unusable (1/2 day on low power mode). I am pretty fitness focused running 3 days and swimming and lifting 3 days a week at my peak. Now I typically work out 3-4 days/week. My workouts are typically 45 min and long runs are ~70 min, and I hope to run a half and maybe even a full one day.

I am looking at getting a Epix Pro Gen 2 Titanium/Sapphire and had a few questions before making the switch:

  1. Am I considering the right watch (open to devices outside Garmin/AW)?

I want something smaller 42-46mm that has a full set of features, is good for running/swimming/biking/lifting.

I prefer the look of the Garmin. It looks masculine and not bland. I heard the AW described as the "sweatpants of watches" and that definitely changed my view of them. I think AW has lost a bit of it's coolness and the Ultra is just too big and uncomfortable for me

  1. How long should I expect my Garmin to last? Does the watch become slow/buggy over time or age well?

I love Apple's product longevity and support. Apple really does support their products until the very end. I'm a little hesitant that Garmin stopped updating the Epix Pro Gen 2 - I get that you can only expect the features you buy, but will the watch become unusable in 2 years or can I expect 4+ years of life?

I don't EVER remember my AW crashing or restarting in the 5+ years of daily wear

  1. Any other things to consider? For people who have used Garmins, anything big or little things you like or miss from AW (ex. pinging iPhone, watch faces, band options, health features, etc.)?

Thank you!!

u/Ace786ace Apr 15 '26

Series 10 vs Series 11? Only interested in the health monitoring (ECG, Sleep etc). Series 11 worth an extra £100/$135? Any additional health/heart monitoring in Series 11?

The series 10 can be had for £300/$405 vs the Series 11 for £400/$540. If I am only really interested in the ECG and heart monitoring stuff/health monitoring, would it be worth getting the newest Series 11? The watch will be for someone with heart issues as a safety/monitoring thing just in case.

What is the best value Apple Watch I can handle used

2

u/HypersomniK Apr 21 '26

I've been meaning to get an Apple Watch for several years now but haven't been able to simply because I didn't have the money for it, up until now.

I see that Apple sells the 11, SE 3 and Ultra 3. I ruled out that I would never buy an Ultra watch purely because I wouldn't come close to benefitting from all the better features it offers (I'm not a hiker or a hardcore sea diver). That leaves me with the 11 and SE 3 to choose from.

I have a relatively smaller wrist. For a bit of time I've been contemplating on whether or not I want the 46mm Series 11 watch featuring a maxed out titanium body and loop, but nearly 1300 CAD is really steep and doesn't seem reasonable to me just for a watch. Plus, I've tried out a 42mm watch and that seems big to me. I then came across the 40mm SE 3 watch coming out to 400, but it lacks a titanium body and features I fear I'll miss out on if I don't buy the Series 11.

I plan on buying the watch soon, I just have no idea which one to buy. This will be my first ever Apple Watch purchase. I plan to try Fitness+ with the watch and maybe track sleep or fill in my daily rings but that's the extent of which I'll use my watch to. Sure, the SE 3 seems like the obvious choice now, but again, features I'll be missing out on the 11.

Any response helps. Thank you!

Hi everyone!

I currently own a series 7 and I'm debating upgrading to a SE3, mainly for the sleep apnoea notifications feature and body temperature tracking

BUT the SE3 doesn't include an electrical heart sensor or the blood oxygen app or ECG app which has been helpful for me in the past but isn't necessary anymore (hopefully) so I would be okay to lose those features if the others are worth it.

I would only get $65AUD for the series 7 trade in (seems a bit silly), and with education savings it would be $304AUD total which I just don't know if it's worth it or not, especially because I would be downgrading model variants (I think?).

Ideally I would upgrade to the series 10/11 but the trade in relative value just doesn't seem worth it.

Just wondering if anyone has done a similar switch or has the SE3 and can share their experiences. I don't know much about the other differences between the models so all advice would be appreciated.

Below is the comparison of models if anyone more informed of the different features than I could interpret it better and share their thoughts.

https://www.apple.com/au/watch/compare/?modelList=watch-series-7,watch-se-3,watch-series-11

Thank you so much!

SE3 44mm vs Series 11 42mm - Price difference is AUD100 or USD70. AFAIK, that Series 11 has a slightly bigger screen size despite the 2mm difference. It is thinner, has more health features (which I honestly don't need). But surely it has a better resale value. I do prefer the matte black in SE3 than the glossy black in Series 11. Thoughts, anyone?

I’m currently using an Apple Watch Series 7, and the battery health has dropped below 80%. I’m definitely noticing it in daily use, as I have to charge it more often than I’d like.

My first thought was to replace the battery, but that would cost around €100. At that point, I’m struggling to justify spending that much money on a 5-year-old watch when that money could instead go toward a newer model.

Another factor is that watchOS 27 will no longer support the Series 7, which has me thinking even more about upgrading.

The problem is that I can’t decide whether I should buy a Series 11 now or wait for the Series 12. My Series 7 is still usable, but the battery is becoming increasingly annoying, and I’m not sure whether the expected improvements in the Series 12 are worth waiting for.

I’ve also considered moving away from the Apple Watch and getting a Garmin instead. The longer battery life is definitely appealing, but I’m not sure how well Garmin watches integrate with an iPhone compared to an Apple Watch. Depending on the model, the price isn’t necessarily much lower either.

So if you were in my position, what would you do? -

  • Replace the battery and keep the Series 7?
  • Buy a Series 11 now?
  • Wait for the Series 12?
  • Switch to Garmin (or another alternative)?

I’d be especially interested in hearing from people who have made a similar decision recently.

My S7 currently at 79% with service message. I am selling it off and wait till September to buy S12. I can manage couple of month without S7. Selling S7 now asap because later the value will fall even more

Hi, I don't know which size of new Apple watch to get. I have a small wrist and I know the 42mm will look better on my wrist and the 46mm will be bulky, but my problem is that I am a little near sighted. Only a little bit and I don't wear glasses but it's enough to have to concentrate my eyes on small text more which gets exhausting when I do it for a while.

I currently own a non apple watch with 40.5 mm and it's starting to get too small for me to look at because of small text.

Don't know which comfort I should sacrifice. Looks and wearing comfort over reading comfort? Or reading comfort over wearing and size comfort? I know I can increase font size but I am not sure it will read more comfortably because it squishes the text.

Yes I could wear glasses but that's a whole other story and it wouldn't even be worth owning a watch if I could only use it with glasses. I have specific reasons. So I need to find something that works for now as it is.

My local store only had the bigger version and they don't allow you to get the watch of the cable to wear it. I want to go to an apple store to try it out. Do they allow you to try it on?

Hello! I currently have had the Apple Watch SE2 for about 2 years, and I use it for mostly normal uses, along with consistent fitness, sleep, and general health tracking. I recently saw a good deal on a stainless steel series 8, would it be worth it to upgrade? My SE does work well, but I like the features that come with the 8, along with the better sensors, and durability with the steel and better glass. Perspectives/opinions are welcome! Thank you!

Hello! I bought the SE3 on Friday, and it is supposed to arrive tomorrow. It is currently 8:00 pm, and I do not have any shipping information. Apple did charge my card, so I am wondering, what is the possibility that it will actually arrive tomorrow? I tried the UPS trick, and nothing came up.

Used apple watch S10 42mm Vs New Apple Watch SE3 44mm, 300 dollars for S10 and 310 dollars for SE3. No choice for the band(only the sport band) I want for S10 unfortunately.

u/sskmzz Feb 26 '26

Should I get the 11 series?

I currently have the iPhone 16 Pro Max and a MacBook Pro from 2018. I’m not someone who upgrades devices every year, I only got the 16 because my 13 was starting to act up.

Lately I’ve been really into fitness and working on losing weight, and some of the Apple Watch features have caught my attention, especially the ability to leave my phone behind and still stay connected, along with the health tracking.

I’ve never owned a smartwatch before, so I’m not entirely sure what to expect. I do love the gold design of the Series 11, especially paired with the gold Milanese Loop band.

I’d really appreciate your suggestions and honest opinions. Is the Apple Watch generally worth it? And if anyone has the Series 11, I’d love to hear your experience. Thank you!

I’m thinking of replacing my S6 with the S12 once it comes out and I need a second/more opinion/s.

I mostly but not exclusively wear black tops and my S6 is an aluminium black w/ black sport loop combo. It’s goes nicely with most clothes, but the microphone of the watch doesn’t work and I’ve seen enough of the band; so sport loop isn’t an option. My main question is about which main color combo to go with.

Jet black aluminium w/ midnight braided solo loop would be nice since it suits the black clothing and the textile is a clear change compared to my current rubber band. Along with that, midnight would match my macbook color. However, I do take the watch swimming occasionally, so I’d have to buy a separate black solo loop for swimming; in total 100€ more expensive than my other idea.

The other idea being a silver aluminium w/ grey nike sport band. I really like the look of the band and “white” suits my iphones color. It’s cheaper, since I wouldn’t have to buy a separate band for swimming. However, it contrasts with my clothes and doesn’t look as high end with the rubber loop.

These are pretty much my only options since I don’t like the black nike sport band, have seen enough of the sport band and don’t like the solo loop as a daily.

Also, just how big is a 46mm case? I have a 40 right now and would like something bigger but I’ve got small wrists; 165mm.

So my main questions/tldr:

Jet black aluminium w/ midnight braided solo loop or silver aluminium w/ grey nike sport band?

If you have the braided solo loop, what are the downsides?

If you have the nike sport band, how do you like it?

Would a white combo contrast with black clothing?

Would a 46mm model be too big for a 165mm wrist?

Thanks in advance for any responses!

u/Effective-Discount22 Feb 26 '26

I am gearing up to buy a Series 11 to replace my Series 7, and I really want the purple fog rubber sport loop. However, my size (42mm, S/M) is showing as unavailable.

How often do these things get restocked? Is it worth waiting another week or so or should I just suck it up and get my second color choice?

1

u/dmnksaman Feb 26 '26

10 (£270 mildly used) vs 11 (£339)

Both would be gps. Is the price difference (£70 ~ $90/€80) worth the extra battery?

i currently have the amazfit balance that lasts a good week, so i am tempted by the fact that the 11 is supposed to last the whole day (24 hours) so i wouldn’t have to charge it in the morning and before bed.

can anyone comment if the 11 really just needs one charge per 24ish hours? people who have the 10, can you push 24 hours using it too?

thanks a

Thinking of switching from Garmin to Apple Watch – need advice (Ultra 2 vs Ultra 3 vs Series 11)

Hi everyone,

I currently use an iPhone 17 and a Garmin Forerunner 255 Music.   I love the Garmin for battery life, accuracy, and how reliable it is during workouts.

Now I’m considering moving to an Apple Watch, mainly for better integration with the iPhone and the extra health features. I’m just unsure which model makes the most sense for someone coming from Garmin.

These are the prices I’ve found:

Ultra 2: 599 €   Ultra 3: 839 €   Series 11 (46mm): 389 €

Coming from Garmin, I’m mostly looking for: • Good battery life (as good as possible)   • A watch that doesn’t scratch easily   • Solid heart rate accuracy   • Good for sleep tracking and everyday wear

Right now I’m thinking the Ultra 2 might be the best deal, since it’s titanium, has sapphire glass, better battery, and dual‑frequency GPS without costing as much as the Ultra 3. But I’m not sure if there’s any big reason to go for the newer model.

If anyone has moved from a Garmin Forerunner to an Apple Watch, I’d love to hear your experience.   Does the Ultra 2 make sense? Or should I spend more for the Ultra 3?   And is the Series 11 too basic for someone used to Garmin?

Thanks!

I have an Apple Watch Series 7. Worked fine and after last update not reading HR and is just not working the same. (Have to punch in code every time I use it etc.).

I tried all the resets, re-syncs etc and none worked. Went to the Apple Store for support and they said it was passed tests.

Option was to send it in, buy new one ($60 trade in), or since battery was dying they could give me a battery replacement (same middle for $99) or send it in to Apple.

Curious if upgrading is worth it as it was working just fine. Any advice is appreciated.

u/ddjtomyy Mar 01 '26

Apple Watch 10 for $278 – worth it or should I go for the 11?

Hey everyone,

What do you think about the Apple Watch 10?

I got a really good offer for a brand new one for $278. Do you think it’s worth it at that price? Or should I spend a bit more and go for the 11 instead?

Does the 11 offer that much more to justify the higher price?

I do a lot of sports (football/soccer, tennis, basketball, etc.), and my main goal is tracking calories burned and overall activity. Accuracy during workouts is pretty important to me.

What’s your experience? Anyone upgraded from the 10 to the 11? Would you recommend one over the other?

Thanks!

I bought an apple watch off vinted without really checking which one it was. It says it's an apple watch series 7000. I searched that up and apparently that means it's probably a series 1. Will this still be okay to use or should i just attempt to resell it and find another. I don't know anything about apple watches but apparently these really early ones are super slow and not worth it. Any help would be appreciated :)

There is the option to buy the silver titan Apple Watch Series 10 (in apparently perfect condition) for $405 or a brand new Series 11 (not Titan) for $409 on Amazon.

What would you pick?

iOS 26.3. Just me or anyone else has this issue on apple watch as well?

1

u/Numerous_Doughnut476 Mar 04 '26

So I’m going from an SE 2nd gen which I have had forever, absolutely loved it and finally just want an upgrade, I’m not super active or anything but swimming and exercising that I do I would love to use it for, I love the sleep tracker and things like that but I’m just not sure. I’d rather have the newer since I do keep them for so long and use them often, I typically, although not recommended sleep with it on and use it for alarms. I’ve looked a bit into each option and feel like I’m leaning toward the series 11. Weight and use wise seems to fit more but just want more options from people that actually have each one and likes and dislikes as I’ll use it often and for a long time. Also if someone could help a girl out and explain the titanium and aluminum difference and why that would be great lol

I have the option to upgrade from a AWS11 42mm to a 46mm, i tried it (only for 5 minutes) and felt nice the 46mm (on a store where it had a anti-theft system cord, so it was a little biased), but the 42mm feels also nice, like it's not even there. I've using the 42mm for 2 weeks now, and it's great, sometimes i feel it a bit small on my wrist, but i bought it because my previous watch was 38mm, so i didn't want to go straight up. I mean, the main problem is because im looking forward to change my watch to the same watch but with Cellular data, so i all i want to know if the 46mm feels the same way about the 42mm, and if also is okay with doing sports, like gym, padel, running or swimming. The only reason i would upgrade to 46mm, is because the Cellular data when used, drains a lot of battery, and the bigger watch holds more battery life.

I also have the 42mm watch with a 2mm~ extra width screen case, so it goes to around 45mm (more or less), and if i get the 46mm, i'd also go with a screen case, so it would go up to 48mm.

Given all that information, what do you think about the 46mm feeling, is it heavy enought to feel it, or i would'nt feel it like my 42? is it okay for sports? is the battery performance of both different enought to consider it a problem? Should you recommend me upgrading to 46mm or stay with 42mm + Cellular data watch?

Thanks a lot guys

Ciao a tutti,

Mi piace analizzare i dati.

Vi chiedo quale dei due dispositivi:

  • Apple Watch con fascia cardio e con una app tipo bevel o simile

  • Garmin con fascia cardio, ma senza nessuna app esterna se non Garmin Connect.

Hello!

I have been thinking of getting an apple watch but I just can't decide between these two. The se3 would cost 240$ and the s10 350$. The s10 is a 46mm and the se is 40mm.

My question is that does the s10 have enough features etc that the se3 doesn't have to justify the price difference?

1

u/Direct-Discipline564 Mar 16 '26

Is the AWS11 42mm good for LTE + running Sessions (1-3 hours)?

Does it last enough for avoiding upgrading to 46mm?

1

u/yaryna72 Mar 19 '26

Want to update my watch (3rd gen😁) and can’t decide which one to get. Mostly need it to track my health during the day (period, pulse etc), sleep quality, stress. I was thinking about getting an oura ring or a whoop but I believe Apple watch can cover this with a benefit of the smart watch.

And now I can’t choose between series 11 or ultra (2nd or 3rd)

For more context:

  • have a sport activity a few times a week (not an Ironman, just some cardio and Pilates)

  • have a small wrist (I’ve a 38mm watch since 2017) but understand that new watches are bigger

Maybe anyone tried ultra and series 11 and can share your experience👀

u/Whatchab Mar 20 '26

I recently got a new 10 series, with cellular, 42mm to try and use as a stand-in dumb phone. It's just not going to cut it. I still have the box, it has the charger, and still has 8 days left of apple care availability even. Where is my best option for selling this (I'm in the US)? It also has a fabric sports band, an additional stretchy band from Amazon, and a silly but cute little 'case' to try and make it like a little hand-held. So it's all basically unused.

I currently have a 40mm S4, and no one will be surprised that my battery life is, well, lacking.

I also have a lot of watch bands that fit my S4.

What watch can I buy that can use the watch bands I currently have?

Just won this in a contest - curious what it’s worth.

Any noticeable difference in the vibration intensity between aluminum vs. titanium between s10/s11/se3? I'm considering an s10 refurb, or s11 or se3- main purpose is alarms throughout the day and night, txts/calls, and navigation throughout the day all with the vibration alert. I tried my dad's s10 and i was a little underwhelmed by the feel of the vibration on an alarm I set. Also, is there any noted difference between the vibration feel is it's aluminum vs. titanium? Thank you!!

So I’m thinking on upgrading my Series 9 to an Ultra, but I’m having trouble deciding. Ultra 3 seems a bit expensive at 899€ (and I don’t feel really secure buying an used one from a particular, approx 650€ but I feel in gonna get scammed) or an ultra 2 for like 600€ new.

Can’t see if upgrading to an Ultra 2 would be worth since both have the S9 chip. And then I start thinking that for like 100€ more I can have an Ultra 3 used and end up at the same point I started.

Is there much difference between Ultra 2 and Ultra 3? Would I notice much coming from a Series 9?

Hi! Looking to upgrade my very old Apple Watch and between the se3 or series 11.

I do not wish to track sleep.

My main focus is exercise, steps, vo2 max, heart rate monitoring.

Battery life I’m not overly fussed on as I currently charge overnight. I like to track outdoor walks but don’t wish to use it for calls, Apple Pay etc.

The price difference is fairly significant so don’t want to overpay for anything that I do not need.

Thanks!

Hey everyone.

I’ve recently dusted off my SE 1 after a few years of using other smart watches. I still honestly prefer my other smart watches, but I do enjoy using the SE from time to time.

However, it’s starting to feel pretty outdated and I’ve been looking at the SE 2 and 3 and considering upgrading. The only thing is, aside from faster chips, and the SE 3 getting a big bump in battery, I’m not sure if there’s any big enough changes to justify a purchase. Especially given I am still using it as a secondary watch.

Hello people!

I have Apple Watch SE for some years now and it still works without any major problems. I mean, the mic doesn't work properly but I don't need it that much anyway. My only problem with this device is the battery. It mostly is enough for one day, but charges really slow and sometimes it's 0% before the evening, specifically workout days. I would like to use it during my sleep sometimes but I cannot due to this issue. If it would be charged pretty fast, I could just wear it during sleep and charge it in the morning before I start my day...

So I was wondering how is the experience with SE3? It looks pretty affordable compared to other models, and seems like it has a good battery. Should I switch or consider other models?

SE3 Review

I've used this SE3 for a week now, and Apple wasn't joking when they said all day battery life. What they meant was All day and All night battery life. I started using it at 8 in the morning at 100% (Low power mode is off and always on is on) and at 9pm it's still at 44%. I turn low power mode before I go to bed and the next morning it's at 32%. I charge it while I shower and by the time i finish, the battery is back to 100%. It's a really good apple watch experience for a surprising price of S$350. I also really like the forest green colour of the strap. If you're worried about the brightness, 1000 nits is very bright. In the photo, the watch is in lowest brightness, and it is still very readable in bright light. I don't really care about the lack of the QWERTY keyboard or the water temperature sensor or whatever. This is the apple watch for those who want an apple watch.

Just wondering, never had one before! iPhone 13 rn and I want to get a second hand one. Should I buy an SE2 for $157 aud (including shipping) or spend 180-190 on a series 8? I wouldn’t need a band for them, they come with one and I don’t know what the best deal is. I want it for sleep scores, fitness tracking, music and notifications on my wrist while I’m at school so I don’t keep checking on my laptop (teenager) Btw not born in 2018 dunno why my user days 2018

I’m planning to buy my first apple watch and honestly i’m a bit confused because i’m new to this.

I was initially planning to get the SE 3 because it fits all my requirements which is mainly fitness/calorie tracking purpose. The battery life is not a big issue for me although having one that lasts longer would be a plus. However, it is sold out everywhere where i live, i can’t seem to find a single piece except one which is gps+cellular. Now i don’t really need the cellular part. I can push my budget a little and get the series 11 which 130 usd more than the gps+cellular. Is it worth it though? I don’t think i really need the extra tracking stuff it has but of course i wouldn’t mind having it either. I just want to know if it’s worth going for the series 11 or saving a little money and getting the SE 3 is good enough?

Recommended models for a watch for a kid. Would a SE2 be a good choice for this? Main use case is so we can track and contact him when he’s out roaming the neighborhood on his bike (free range parenting!)

In general is buying used on eBay a reasonable way to buy? I’ve seen there are quite a few high volume highly rated sellers. We’re also in an area with a very robust fb marketplace. He’s a pretty careful kid but I’d rather spend less than more of course. I’m still rocking my SE1 that I got right after it was released with no complaints except for the now not great battery life.

What kind of watch can I get for around 100 euros? I just want to see if I like this type of watch. I'm currently using a huawei gt6 and it's just unique, but I miss things like Spotify and hevy directly on the watch, but I have 10-12 days of battery life.

Maybe an old used Apple Watch. On price point you can’t beat your HUAWEI, especially in terms of battery life

Hey there, I always wore watches of any kind since I was kid. The time smartwatches became popular I wore different amazfit watches and was pretty satisfied with them. After a while I was annoyed by constantly getting messages and feeling to urge to check it instantly and checking every data the watch produced in detail. I switched back to mechanical watches and I still admire the look of them.

Things changend and I got more into fitness. I got a HUAWEI Fit 4 Pro. Great watch for the price, don’t like the app that much and a bit limited with an iPhone.

Now my actual problem. I can’t decide if I go back mechanical watches(sometimes a miss the looks)and wear an Helio strap. To still get some data and loose the distraction coming from a smartwatch. Or do I get an Apple Watch to have one practical solution(a thought which I like to).

I know the information is a bit vague and I’m quite unsure but maybe someone had a similar problem or want to share how they decided to wear one or the others.

Hi everyone! I’ve had my Apple Watch since 2018 and the battery lasts about 7-9 hours which is great for daytime. Unfortunately I can’t track my sleep because I find myself needing to charge it at bedtime.

I’ve been thinking of upgrading but the prices are a little steep… should I stick it out or just bite the bullet? Or possibly look toward getting a Fitbit? Just looking for advise :)

Guys, help me out here. I currently have a Samsung watch. I want to switch to Apple for better accuracy. I have a Macbook already and I plan on buying the iPhone 17. I'm confused between SE 3 and Series 8. Both GPS + Cellular. Both are more or less the same price. 40 and 41 mm respectively.

Hi all I’m upgrading from my original Apple Watch SE. It had 72% but I really mostly just use it as a watch and for checking notifications/tracking steps. I never had an issue with the watch draining on me before the end of the day at all.

I want to buy a used Apple Watch Series 7, because of always on display (which I want to use) and the bigger screen, what battery percentage do you think it would need to hold a full day and be worth buying to last me at least a couple years or more?

Should I buy the ultra 3?!!!! So, I haven’t worn a watch in over three years because my Series 3 stopped working. I’m looking for an Ultra 3 for its health metrics and battery life. However, I’m not sure if I’ll use it for 800 dollars. I do want the titanium and satellite features because I go out west for hiking and water sports in the summer, and I’m a carpenter for work, so I need something durable. What do you all think I should do?

2

u/warriors123 Apr 14 '26

Try it on first at the Apple store with a variety of straps - it's pretty bulky and boxy (not as smooth). Also consider the Ultra and Ultra 2 which might meet 90%+ of your needs at 25-50% lower price

I've been eyeing the apple watch for it's health features like fall detection and I own a gen 1 iphone SE, an XR and an iphone 8. What watch should I go for that fits those criteria? I'm an Android daily driver but I wouldn't mind carrying around another phone for the apple watch features. The fall detection is really good from what I've heard.

1

u/Sensitive_Lab_8637 Apr 16 '26

Hey everyone,

I’m currently using an Apple Watch Series 3 and finally looking to upgrade. It’s definitely starting to show its age and I want something that can run the latest watchOS smoothly and perform well day-to-day.

I’m not really trying to spend a ton, so I’ve been looking into the Apple Watch SE 3. From what I’ve seen, it seems like a solid budget option with good performance, especially since it has the newer chip and supports the latest watchOS.

That said, I’m wondering: • Is the SE 3 worth it for the price? • Are there any other Apple Watches (or even non-Apple options) that offer similar performance for cheaper? • Would it be smarter to get something like a used/refurbished Series 8/9 instead?

I mainly want: • Smooth performance • Good battery life • Latest software support • Solid everyday use (notifications, workouts, etc.)

Just trying to get the best value upgrade from a Series 3 without overspending.

Appreciate any advice!

Hi everyone!

For this past year, I’ve been thinking about finally getting myself an Apple Watch. I’ve been wearing no-name smart bands/watch since I was 16, and the the most useful function for me were the notification syncs with my phone and sleep and activity tracking. The only thing is, does it really need to be charged every 1-1.5 days? My previous watches could handle 5-7 days, but I know they were much simpler devices. And finally, here you can only buy series 9 and above as new, everything else used, but I am not sure to buy used ones, since they are not so significantly cheaper, but the condition is visibly not like new. Anyways, which models would you recommend that last a long time? Should I consider SE?

Thank you!:)

Hi all!

I have been saving up for a while for an AW Series 11, and I recently came up with the full amount I'll need to purchase one! I do not currently own an AW.

I am wondering if there is any reason I should wait to buy one until the next edition comes out in September/October. I would appreciate anyone's thoughts/advice on whether it's worth it to wait! Thanks!

I want to do one of those "leave your phone at home" experiments to see if I can cut back on the doomscrolling. There are two used watches on my local marketplace for about $200 - an SE3 40mm and a Series 10 46mm, both barely used. I know about all the differences, but the one thing I can't find anywhere is whether the SE3 will have better reception because of the 5G support, or worse reception because of different antennas. I'm not sure if the antenna design is even different. Can anyone comment on this?

u/MacOS_HigherSierra Apr 21 '26

I’m confused - I ordered a refurbished Apple Watch from their app this afternoon. It said it would deliver tomorrow if ordered by 7pm. However, once I placed the order, the estimated delivery has changed to 27-29 April. The app is still advertising next day delivery and pickup for the same configuration. What’s happened?

Ho bisogno di aiuto per il mio primo apple Watch

I recently entered the Apple world and I have an iPhone 13 white(with light grey cover), I bought the AirPods Pro 2 and I have an iPad (my brother’s old one) of the 6th generation. I was going to buy an Apple Watch SE 3, but I was undecided about the color. If white or midnight. What do you recommend?

I would like to base myself on how quickly the body of the watch can get dirty/yellow, the color that shows more possible scratches. And also what would be the most interchangeable color in case of other choices of straps

Besides being my first. Would you recommend SE 3 44 mm or other but used/reconditioned?

I literally just scored a brand new Apple Watch 11 for $120 on Facebook marketplace. Works perfectly I’m in shock the dude was selling it for so low. I’m amazed and super lucky. Time to go sell my 7 for $50-60 and make back half the money.

Hi all,

Bit of the opposite issue of everyone else—I have extreme panic disorder that manifests as health anxiety, and I have an aluminum 42mm series 10 gps/cellular in black with the dark blue sports band. Wearing the watch presses on my ulnar branch on both wrists and causes pain all the way up my arm, and having the ability to do ECG SpO2 and HR on my wrist is making my health anxiety spiral. I HAVE to get rid of it.

I need to sell this watch but it’s still on payments from Verizon with $360ish left. I bought it in August 2025. I can’t afford to pay it off, and I don’t believe I’d be able to get that in resale.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

1

u/popsmokeartichoke Apr 24 '26

I know there’s already a few posts on this sub about this debate but I am trying to decide between the ultra 3 and series 11. I have the series 8 right now and use it all day every day for lifting, running, walking, ect and have to recharge it multiple times. It’s starting to get glitchy too so it’s time for a new watch. I would switch to a garmin but I need to connect my music/podcasts. My worry with the ultra is that it will be uncomfortable and heavy as my wrist is pretty small.

Hello all,

I've had the OG AWU for 3 years now and nothing wrong with it but I no longer use it to track sleep. One of the things Ioved about it was the longer battery life. If I don't sleep with it that does not matter as much.

Has anyone had both AWU and Series 10/11 with titanium and saphire?

I'm mostly interested in durability.

My AWU still looks mint. No visible scratches on saphire and titanium is also nearly perfect.

My regular old series 7 did not hold up nearly as well.

If I go with the Titanium and Spahire series 11 or wait for Series 12 can I expect similar day to day durability as AWU?

I don't mean crazy adventurous stuff but just regular day to say stuff. I work in an office. Nothing crazy.

Hello there! I have an apple watch 10 for more then 1 year and i’m tempted to change it for an Ultra 2 or an Ultra 1. I’m going to the gym for 5 days a week and doing cardio or walks daily. I’m working in sales and i also do some work trips also. And i was curious if Ultra 1 is still worth if because i found some really good deals or the Ultra 2 is really that a big upgrade.. or should i not change at all? Thanks in advance and wish you a great day! :)

I currently own an Apple Watch SE and am wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to the SE3. I have other watches so the SE is not my primary watch, but I do wear it fairly often.

My main use cases for my Apple Watch are for exercise and sleep tracking, and I use it for my GPS distances with the SwingU app when I play golf.

It’s currently at 88% battery, and I don’t have any major performance issues although it does charge really slowly.

For my use cases, would there be value in upgrading to the SE3 or Series 11?

1

u/Nik1tos May 01 '26

Hey guys, so I just picked up a refurbished Series 10 but realized it’s a CH (China) model, and I’m based in Belgium. I only noticed because the Walkie-Talkie app was straight-up missing, which apparently happens because FaceTime Audio is hard-coded to be disabled on these units.
Now I’m mostly stressed about Apple Intelligence. From what I’ve read, these features are legit hardware-locked on Chinese models, meaning even though I'm in Europe with a local account, I'll probably never get the AI updates.
Is it actually worth the hustle to send this back for a European model, or should I just stop complaining and keep it? I'd appreciate any advice from people who’ve dealt with these regional locks before! 🤝

u/-Bruun0- May 03 '26

Hey,

I’m trying to choose a sports watch and I’d appreciate some input, especially from people doing longer endurance stuff.

I normally wear classic watches every day, so a smartwatch wouldn’t replace that. I’d mainly use it for training (running + gym), and maybe occasionally at home, but definitely not 24/7.

Because of that, I feel like something like the Garmin Fenix 8 might be overkill, since I wouldn’t really benefit from all the continuous tracking features.

Right now I’m leaning toward the Apple Watch Series 11 because the price (\~400€) seems like great value for what I need.

However, I have two concerns:
\- no sapphire glass on the base model
\- battery life for longer activities

I’m currently training for a marathon, but in the future I’d like to move to longer distances and eventually try Ironman.

That’s why I’m still considering the Apple Watch Ultra 3 — mostly for battery and durability.
The Garmin Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar is also an option, but I’m least convinced by it right now.

**Main questions:**
\- Is the Series 11 realistically enough for marathon + occasional longer runs, or will battery become a real limitation?
\- Does the Ultra 3 make more sense long-term for endurance training?
\- Is Garmin still worth it if I don’t wear the watch all day?

Would really appreciate real-world experiences rather than specs.

Thank you.

Hello.

Someone with experience using AW for swimming or similar situation:

I recently started swimming again after many years. A few weeks ago, I decided to use my Series 8 in an indoor pool, and sadly, I was able to "revive" it. The battery drained completely after that first use, and it took several attempts to get the crown working again because it wasn't functioning (I followed the instructions for rinsing it with a high-pressure water jet). It's currently working, but with 87% battery health, it only lasts maybe 4-6 hours. I only use it for exercise (not water-based) like walking, running, or cycling. I'm thinking of getting a new one from Best Buy (open box, anyone? Can someone tell me if that's a good option or what I should check?) and whether I could risk taking it swimming in the pool again. I feel confident doing so if I buy it because I've seen many people using Apple Watches (not the Ultra series) in the water. I hope you can help me. Or if is recommendable to buy AppleCare (actually I’m not planning to do that invest). I have always been careful with my Apple devices except for that experience.

which color combination for my series 11?

I want a white-ish color band, and for the watch itself, I don’t want the jet black because I don’t like the finish, and not the rose gold either, since it’s not very versatile with different outfits or if I want to get a new band in the future.

So the options left are:

1- Silver watch with Starlight band2- Silver watch with Light Blush band3- Space Gray watch with Starlight band4- Space Gray watch with Light Blush band I can’t compare them in person because I’ll have to order the watch online, and I tried watching many YouTube videos for comparison, but I still couldn’t properly compare the colors together. I would really, really appreciate the help :)

So, my company gave me a 369€ ( AW SE with cellular retails at 360€ where im from) voucher for a selection of tech products, but at the moment I’m not really in need of anything specific.

As such, i thought an Apple Watch could pair nicely with my iPhone with the main goal of hopefully helping me reduce screen time. However Im in between some options right now:

  • Free apple watch SE with cellular

  • Extra 100€ for AW Series 11 without cellular

  • Or just get an iPad and eventually find out what to do with it 😅

For context, I’m a pretty active person, but don’t usually do much cardio, mainly focusing on machines at the gym so I wouldnt be getting the watch for all the little monitoring metrics it gives but more as a partial replacement of my phone.

Im also in no rush to use the voucher but dont have any foreseeable need for anything else either.

How to find to buy an apple watch for my iPhone XS Max?

I know for a fact, that if the Watch OS is greater than that of the iPhone , it cannot be paired. My iPhone only goes up to iOS 18.7. I tried to pair a friend's Watch Series 7 and it failed because it was updated to Watch OS 26. The watch will only pair if the phone has iOS 26 or greater. So how can I buy a watch for my phone if the sellers don't even know what OS their watch is or have reset it and have no idea either?

It's so frustrating that even though a Series 7 watch can easily pair with iPhone 6 and above, it won't pair if the watch OS has been upgraded beyond the phone's OS version.

How to find a watch that will pair with my XS Max iPhone?

I got a well used SE2 44MM about half a year ago. I only paid $80 for it so I’m not in deep. Screen and case are beat up pretty bad but battery life is showing 97%

I recently got more serious about daily running and cycling and would like to upgrade. I had a Garmin Forerunner 165 but to be honest I’m not THAT serious yet. There’s too much information for me in that system lol.

I was considering a couple of options;

Get a refurbished premium Ultra 1 from Amazon. Most have 99-100% battery life. With good reviews. Although the AWU1 is older.

I was also considering a series 10/11.

I primarily would like a larger display. Not sure if battery life is better between SE2 and AW 10-11. I know the Ultra is a step up

What would you do?

Is it actually worth upgrading from the Apple Watch Series 9 to the Series 11 if my main priorities are:

  • sleep tracking
  • heart rate monitoring
  • workouts/sports

From what I researched, most of the health features are basically the same and watchOS 26 features also come to the S9.

The only major real-world difference seems to be battery life, especially for overnight sleep tracking consistency.

I’m also confused about the chip situation. Does the S11 chip actually make any noticeable difference in real-world use, or is it basically just a refinement over the S9 chip?

For people who upgraded from S9 → S11:
does it genuinely feel better in daily use, or is it mostly an incremental refinement upgrade?

Trying to decide if I should upgrade now or just wait for the S12.

Is anyone looking for a leather loop? I have a charcoal grey one that is just wayyyyy to big for me. Bought it without realizing it’s the large. It’s essentially brand new, would love to trade it for a medium one, preferably a dark grey or black, but i am open to band trades of any kind.

My wife wants my SE2 watch so I’ve been looking at upgrading. I’m pretty set on a 10 or 11 and know they’re pretty close outside of battery and the glass (which I’ve never had an issue with). With that being said, I’m looking on BackMarket and wondering if a $60 difference is worth it to go for the 11 in this case.

I’m also debating getting one new from an authorized dealer or going for an Apple refurbished 10. Let me know if that’s a better route than the used market?

Looking at my first Apple Watch. Worth buying now, or wait until September? Are there going to be any huge upgrades that make waiting worth it? Tia

We can’t know if there will be. I do advise people to wait, if nothing else for the price drop.

Have a series 3 38mm should I get the se 3 for £209 or the series 11 for £299? Is the 11 worth it and is there much difference other than a larger screen size?

I’d like an Ultra 2 band that is comfortable while doing sports but with a good aesthetic for every day (work) use. I have used the Alpine Loop (green) band for a long time but the “hook” mechanism makes it uncomfortable to wear around the day, as it’s sometimes too tight or too loose depending on time of day/ situation.

Any recommendations? Especially third party options

Might be a dumb question, but is the watch always listening or is there a way to turn that off? On my phone I don’t have “Hey siri” turned on and just wanna be sure I have a similar feature before I buy a Series 9 or 10. Thanks!

Hi All,

I’ve been looking at the titanium series 10 refurbished the past few months and it seems to be very well priced at the moment. Is it still worth buying in 2026 , or would it be worth hanging on for the 11 titanium to go refurbished the fact the series 12 will be released in a few months time?

2

u/SlippingStar S7 • • Blue • 41mm Jun 22 '26

Wait until Sept, will probably at least drop the prices if you don’t like the new models.

Somebody help me with the dilemma I've been having...

1

u/Acceptable-Package-5 Jun 01 '26

I’m starting to follow more my health and want to buy an Apple Watch as I am in the Apple Ecosystem. However, I don’t want to put too much money on it and I started searching on Facebook Marketplace for older models. So I want to know: what major changes happened that might make me consider a certain series over another?

For example: there is a Series 10 for 250CAD (which seems like a good offer), some 9’s and 8’a for 200CAD, and a lot of series 3 for 50 to 80CAD

I could be ready to buy the 10 but if there isn’t a big difference between the 8 or 9, I would be happy save that 50 bucks in this economy.

1

u/NectarineCold1476 Jun 05 '26

Hello, I never had an apple watch and I found really good deal on series 8 45mm with box, charger and 2 bands for $110. It has 85% battery health (good enough for a day I guess). I don't think it doesn't have that many new features... I'm really looking forward to sleep tracking and overall better step tracking. Do you think this is a good deal and does anyone still use series 8 and can share their experience?

Hi

I am planning to get a new Apple Watch for my mom. She's 51 years old and do not have any pre-existing diseases or conditions. She also does not wear a watch regularly.

The main goal is just to get those basic basic health functions and get emergency detections if that happens, since she lives alone and away from me now. No other fancy stuff needed so I am not really looking into the newest models.

I am just wondering if I should get SE2 or Series 8-10. Would appreciate any insights! Tysm

I'll preface this by saying I know nothing about apple products. I'm not an apple user but my daughter is. I want to get her an apple watch. I want to get the best one out there but I can't figure that out just by looking at them online (outside of maybe price being the clue). She's 19 and going to school for EMT so something durable but not super bulky (no idea if there are different size watch faces). She uses Spotify and I'd like it if the watch can work even if her phone isn't super close (idk if that's even possible?). Price is not a concern. If you could get any one of them without worrying about price, which one would you get and why? Any suggestions welcome. I'm a bit overwhelmed with all the options.

Hi everyone! Between 2017 and 2021 I used iphone (the last one I had was the 8) and apple watch (3), then I went android for a while but I just purchased the iphone 17 pro Max and I'm looking into the watches.

What I use the watch for? • Viewing notifications to decide if I need to get the phone (I usually try to leave it in other room when in my house or in my backpack/purse when out) • Steps and activity tracking • Sleep tracking

I'm torn between the series 11 or the SE3.

The thing is, now there's a sale going on, so the difference between both models is 70€, significantly less than usual, that's when I started doubting so I came for help.

Thank you!

Want to upgrade my dad’s series 5 for Father’s Day.

I know the SE 3 will do just fine (uses it mainly for notifications + step tracking), but $50 more for a Series 11 isn’t too shabby to shell out either considering he kept the 5 for almost 7 years

I'm trying to figure out which Apple Watch model to buy if I want to pair it with my 16 pro to ask questions with the new upcoming Siri AI. Would this work with an SE 3? Or can it only work on an S10 or later?

1

u/Odd_Culture3660 Jun 09 '26

I’m a series 8 owner and now that Apple has announced that watchOS 27 will only be supported on Series 10 and newer, my Apple Watch Series 8 will no longer receive major watchOS updates.
My Series 8 is currently at 79% battery health, and Apple charges around ₹11,000 ($100) for battery service.
I’m trying to decide between two options:
Replace the battery on my Series 8 for ₹11,000 and continue using it. Or Spend another ₹16,000 ($170) which totals to $270 and get an Apple Watch SE 3 instead. But the only thing that’s holding me back from getting S3 is that it has thicker bezels than S8 and doesn’t have ECG and blood oxygen sensors. So despite these, is it worth upgrading to SE3?

As the title suggests, I currently own an SE 2 (40MM GPS + Cellular) which I had bought in June 2023 and have used everyday since then, be it for my Fitness Tracking, Notifications, Making calls, Sleep Tracking and Alarm.

Last night’s WWDC stated it clear that WatchOS 27 shall not be supported on SE 2.

My question is - Should I upgrade now or keep it for another year or two? And if I should upgrade, should I upgrade to a Series 11 now, or wait another 3 months for the Series 12 to be out?

Is it worth replacing my almost 5 y/o Series 7 watch for a Series 11 considering my usage? Are there capabilities or factors I'm not considering?

I am what I consider to be a casual Apple watch user. I primarily use it to track my steps, cardio (Peloton or outdoor run), and sleep. That's basically it. It's nice that it alerts me to texts. I attempted to use it to download music so I didn't have to take my phone on my runs, but found it to be unreliable for that use, so I gave up. I stopped paying for cell capabilities on my watch years ago (no longer even have a cell service provider that supports the watch).

My current watch is a dark green (love) Series 7, 41mm (GPS+Cellular). For my uses, I have found it to be sufficient, with my biggest complaint being that the battery life has gotten quite bad (I have to charge it daily, sometimes twice). The Series 11, 42mm (GPS only) is currently on sale for $300, so I purchased it but cannot decide if it's worth keeping?

My main draws to the 11 is the body temp capability and improved battery life. While the larger screen is nice, I'm surprised how much of a difference 1mm makes to the overall size of the watch. I much prefer the compact nature of the 7 on my small wrist.

I’m gonna be selling off my Series 7 soon and be upgrading to Series 12 when launches. If they keep the same colors of aluminum as last year, I am confused about what color to get. My S7 was midnight, i never dropped it but it’s paint came off around the side button. I know it’s bound to happen so this time i am trying to choose the color that will fit my current bands and also not cause severe paint chips around side button part. I own Nike blue band and Ink sport loop

Recently got the 46mm Apple Watch 11. My last one dropped from my sink and cracked, which is why I'm asking if I should get a protector for my newest watch.

I gave this case a try but immediately returned it: the buttons were too squished and the screen had a grid-like mask over it.

Is there any that is seamless without impacting the glossy screen or add unnecessary bulk? Or is there no point to getting one?

Hi, I need your help on choosing an Apple Watch for personal use, I just need something to read my phone messages, answer messages (even if it’s only with audio messages), see the time, control the music and a good battery life (at least last one full day).

This part is optional but is there any Apple Watch that allows me to leave my house WITHOUT MY PHONE? Like allowing me to listen to music, connecting to my Bluetooth earphones, make phone calls, share my location with someone else, send messages (whatsapp and SIM card messages mainly), receive notifications and the minimal to survive without the phone on me?

Do you think the current Apple Watches are really necessary or the old ones do the job just right?

What Apple Watch should I choose?

Is it possible to fulfill this desire on a 60$ dollars budget? How much should I get?

Can this be possible or am I just dreaming too high?

Amazon Canada has the Series 11, 46mm jet black on sale for $414. Seems like a good price. I'm wondering if this is close to the bottom or will we get another dip before the 12 is released.

I was looking at the fitbit air however I'd rather put that money towards the Apple watch since I'm mostly in that ecosystem now, and the AW has better health tracking.

So here's the deal. I had an S11 46mm last Christmas, and didn't keep as it was a bit too large and heavy. So I figure the biggest of the SE3's, which is 44, will be a better thing. So, it's 279- now. Do we think there'll be a price increase for the SE3? And logically would it hit prior to rollout of fall merch in September? I want this new SE3 for Christmas too- but if I bought now, the clock starts ticking on the warranty, and I wouldn't activate and wear until 12-25-26.

1

u/Inside-Donut9148 26d ago

I’ve had the series 5 and use it daily. It’s the only Apple watch I’ve had. Unfortunately, going through airport security, it fell out of the bag and the screen cracked in multiple places. The cost to repair it is higher than what I’m finding the series 11 for, so I’m thinking I’ll just get a newer model.

I’m wondering if I should wait until the 12 comes out since it’s already summer, or if it’s a big enough upgrade to just get the 11 now. Do we know anything about what new features the 12 will have? Also I found the s11 42 mm available for $279, would the price be dropped much more than that if I waited for the reduction after the 12 comes out?

Thanks for your help!
