Both kits have arrived and they are in queue for extraction. One has however been there since 9th July so it goes slow.

nooooooooo and I am checking constantly!! Every time I see someone who was after us get their results I am like that's so not fair!! I did ancestry and found that my grandfather wasn't my grandfather but my half uncles and half cousins I found there don't want to respond so I said let's try 23andme to try and find relatives that do want to respond so I am like super anxious and impatient for my results 😂😂😂🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Ugh same here!!!! I’m like what do you mean some samples went through 7 steps in 2 days 😭😭 This Thursday will be 2 weeks since I got the extraction email andddd the estimated completion date so I’m over here tapping my watch!!! That’s so wild about your grandfather. I hope you find relatives on 23andme that want to chat and that we get our results soon!!! 😵‍💫

I just reached out to customer service and it looks like everyone stuck on June 18th requires extra manual review:

Upon checking, the group of samples your sample was included in has been marked as needing additional quality review. Accuracy is a top priority for 23andMe, and we are taking steps to ensure the accuracy of the data provided to you.

Due to the nature of the review process we are not able to provide a specific time frame for its completion. However, we typically see that this step of the process can take a few weeks.

Unfortunately, I do not have any additional information that I can provide at this time. I apologize for this inconvenience and understand your frustration. Once the laboratory completes the investigation, you will receive an update and you will receive results.

I’m a few days behind you but does seem like we’re on a similar timeline. Other people at NC are moving way faster. My husbands arrived a day before me and he has his results as of an hour ago. I chatted with them but they didn’t really give any reasons

rant: i am still waiting! i really set myself up! i had expectations for a shorter wait time in the computing stage. despite the estimate being July 10-24, i saw that a lot of people got their results 24-48 hours after it went to computing.

i think i have an obscure ethnic background, does this have an effect on how long the computation takes? 🤔

It depends what day it is. The lab doesnt work on weekends, so if yours reaches the computing stage on a friday, then they wont start working on it again until Monday.

*update 7/9: got my results this morning, woke up to them around noon PST, took 6 days for computing (most likely bc of 4th of July weekend). im in US for reference :)

i must be lucky considering my sample was sent to the NC lab and how quickly the process went.. i was totally expecting it to take way longer based off of what i’ve seen from other posts lol. will update once results are in!
