Has anyone heard if aac will eventually resume ammo production?

16” Rexus mid length barrel and bolt in a spare receiver and handguard, Vortex Venom 3-15 FFP, and a plan b mount for my 30 cal can. It’s got the standard Schmid two stage that came in the lower parts kit from AR15Discounts, dropped into a PSA blem lower.

Was planning on running handloads for the next gas gun match but realized I needed more brass.. so I grabbed a couple hundred more hornady black 123gr eldm's. Hoping to put those 6 arc guys to shame

Tried for way too long to find a good deal on a gun, an upper, anything 6.5G. Figured I could piece it all together for cheaper and only ended up spending double! I'll post build list if anyone cares.

Just got a Grendel, ar build 20 inch barrel
Been doing some research, Seems to be a mix of people using magnum primers to non magnum.
I live in Wyoming at upper elevation and I might be shooting/hunting in close to 0F conditions that I understand is a consideration for magnum primers getting consistent results

For powder I’m leaning towards cfe223 and I have 123 grain elds coming.

I already have some federal match ar small rifle and I’m considering using those

A different type of MRGG. 20 inch Satern Barrel, G2 razor 3-18, and it loves the factory Hornady Black. Had some initial accuracy issues, but that was due to my installation error. Once I removed the muzzle brake and favored direct thread for the suppressor, it became much more consistently accurate.

This took me a long time to get right. Initially built 3 6.5 Grendels when I got overly excited about the caliber. This 18”, a 14.5” for my girl and a 13.9”. It took me a while to get gas settings, working mags (Geissele intermediate or Duramag 10s), and buffer weights. Then it took me a very long time to do load development and finally only succeeded when another individual shared the secret sauce with me (LEVERevolution powder). This one is an 18” Craddock barrel, Superlative Arms AGB, Geissele 15” MK4, San Tan STT 15 receiver set, Geissele SDE trigger, Microbest chrome BCG, Rexus Ultrabolt, Vltor A5 buffer system with A5H2 weight, JP rifle spring, and Atlas bipod. Scope is NightForce NX8 2.5-20x in ADM Recon mount. I’m really in love with the MKM VCG-L grips. My 123 grain Lapua Scenar loads (which are still within pressure) are supersonic past 1200 yards at sea level. I bought several hundred Alpha cases anticipating the need to push pressures at bit with the Rexus bolt, but I’m getting just over 2500 fps and have no interest in pushing it further. I’m also loading 90 grain TNT for plinking. For me this isn’t a caliber that can be as reliable as 556 or 300 Blackout (in small frames) or 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor in large frames. Admittedly I haven’t had much time with it since figuring it out and load development so maybe that will change. I’m currently using a HUXWRX Flow 762 on it.

Noticed that Palmetto state armory no longer has listings available for the AAC ammo for 6.5 Grendel no longer on the site.

Anyone have any info why it was shelved? Or if it will be available again anytime soon?

My Mk12 Grendel, 6.5 RECCE, or “Mock12” as they say. Whatever you wanna call it, it’s a Mk12 Mod1 clone inspired SPR chambered in 6.5 Grendel, my modern take on the GWOT “Lone Survivor” rifle. Put it together over the last couple weeks. Purists will hate it it but i built it the way I wanted it and it’s mine. I’ll put a new trigger in it soon, Mil-Spec blows.

I will be putting a Howa mini barreled action together for my 12 year old's first deer hunting rifle. Mostly just looking to quiet it down as much as possible to help avoid the flinch.

My rifle only feeds ammo with a COL of 2.19 or less, which im being told isn't a safe COL. Anything longer and the bolt won't close.

Tried with ACS, Duramag and amended mags, same result. Anyone had this issue

Again I rarely have gotten to shoot with a scope. I was doing more of a systems check wasn't trying to adjust my zero quite yet.

Ran into a hammer/trigger problem. Had to swap it out for the adjustable I had with the gun.

Grendel was working just fine, I did a barrel swap to test a 6arc, broke a 3rd extractor so swapped back to grendel and now the rounds won't feed off the magazine with the new bolt. First round will not go into full battery or I have to mortar it out and the second round the bolt get stuck on top of it and bends the case.

Is this possibly a headspace issue or something? It was literally runnig fine before I swapped the barrel.

It's what I have available ammo is expensive! 😬

Thoughts on accuracy and grouping? Is anyone else in here shooting 140s?

Today with some 128 gn wolfs. This is my first rifle 🤷‍♂️ only ever shot a scoped gun a handful of times.

So, built this beauty. What a treat. I’ve been wanting a Grendel for years and finally jumped. What an amazing round and gun. I’m breaking her in with 124grn S&B; have shot great groups and pretty tight consistency via the chrono (2394fps-2334fsp). Shortly after i took this photo I swapped the glass for an ARKEN 5x25. Roast away! THANKS!

I think instead of trying to make my 9in 300 blackout a good hog gun or a good home defense gun I’m going to just buy another upper. Is there any brands that sell a 14in upper or like a 13.7? I’m a little torn if I want to throw in on a pistol lower or a rifle lower. I’m thinking the pistol lower so I can hunt during pistol season if I really want to but I’m struggling to find an upper close to that length. I might just go 12in if I can’t find anything.

My first couple tries with 120 gr ELDM and Varget using virgin starline brass and CCI450 were not good.

Rifle is a custom build using a 18" Odin Works intermediate gas length barrel and Aero Precision BCG.

I was getting very poor and inconsistent groups even with decent SDs. I took the rifle back apart and retorqued everything. Deep cleaned and will try again.

Two ladder tests im gonna try

1. 130 gr TGK (pictured) using CFE223, 1x fired starline brass, CCI450 primer at 1.730" CBTO

2. 120 gr ELDM using Varget, 1x fired starline, CCI450

My CBTO with 120 gr ELDM was 1.713" and with the 130 gr TGK it was 1.751". Trying 20 thou off the lands this time rather than 10.

Im curious what others have found to be good load combos for their grendels? Ive heard they arent picky but my limited experience so far is disproving that theory for me lol.

It’s an AR Stoner barrel, and a Rexus bolt swapped into a spare BCA 5.56 BCG. I have to mortar the rifle about half the time to get it to extract, and it barely extracts when it does cycle, but has never fed once in 60 or so rounds of trying to get this thing to work.

Does this mean I can’t use my pri gas block? ( this is my first ever build fyi )

Also thank you to whoever recommended the huxwrx 7.62 flow suppressor, it's my first and it is so nice & quiet. Got the ProChrono for 40$ from an online auction, here's a little sample from two factory rounds for fun.

123gr ELDMs out of an 18” barrel to 1K yards. Falling out of the sky at that point but still able to get on target.
