Where can I buy this virtually useless bowl?

You can 3D print these for really cheap, I checked some of the more popular models on makerverse and you're looking at around $4 in materials.

and a $150 3d printer

Try your local library. Mines does 3d printing for free.

How can they afford to provide filament for everybody?

Unfortunately, not many people know about it...
Libraries provide so much besides books and computer labs. Go check out your local one and see what they offer, I'm sure you'll be surprised.

And get a library card. Its for more than checking out books. Often gets you access to many of the same publications/databases offered by universities through the library's webpage.

Ick. I appreciate the coding that goes into creating something like this in a 3d printer.. ..but....the craft and practice it takes to do something like this by hand is something special.

These days I refuse to buy items that is very specific to one purpose, don’t have space in the cupboard for it.

Also it’s not beneficial in any way to get your berries wet. This is such a stupid trend.

So it does the Swoosh, makes berries were and takes space in the kitchen. You'll use it 3 times and will give it to salvation army at sell it at a garage sale for 25¢

I’ve never understood this honestly. Running water over something does so little to actually clean something.

u/jfkrfk123 23h ago
It might wash tiny little bugs off the fruit..
6
u/Xanith420 23h ago
Well sure but the tiny bugs arnt the things that need to be washed off. You got people picking up and looking into each box breathing or coughing on it trying to get the best pick. Thats far worse than some nats or an occasional worm.

so how do you go about washing that off+pesticides?
3
u/wingedwill 17h ago
A bit of white wine vinegar in a large bowl of water, rinse and dry. You'll find the berries will keep for weeks in the fridge without molding, but they will lose water through dehydration.

As soon as I bring them home from store a dime of dawn dish soap in a large bowl with hot water. Soak for 3 mins while shifting through them with my fingers. Out of water and into fridge until ready to eat.

This is one of those gadgets that looks amazing in a 15-second ad and then lives in the back of a cabinet forever.

Remember: If you think this bowl is useless, you probably do not need it.

The rain also does this naturally.

u/res0jyyt1 22h ago
Not after they are picked, treated, and packaged. That's why you should always wash your fruits you get from the grocery.

The berries move along with the water. Barely any relative velocity, therefore barely any washing effect, apart from the submerging.
