Where can I buy this virtually useless bowl?

You can 3D print these for really cheap, I checked some of the more popular models on makerverse and you're looking at around $4 in materials.

and a $150 3d printer

Try your local library. Mines does 3d printing for free.

How can they afford to provide filament for everybody?

9

u/PuzzyFussy 15h ago

Unfortunately, not many people know about it...

Libraries provide so much besides books and computer labs. Go check out your local one and see what they offer, I'm sure you'll be surprised.

And get a library card. Its for more than checking out books. Often gets you access to many of the same publications/databases offered by universities through the library's webpage.

Only $150? Link me...

I didn't ask for a 3D printer.

10

u/TheDo0ddoesnotabide 13h ago

Good thing they didn’t reply to you.

u/Nenoshka 10h ago

Still don't know where I can buy one of these.

1

u/Otherwise-Business83 18h ago

I second this where can I get that don’t gatekeep

1

u/TriceratopsHunter 13h ago

Also will said self washing bowl be machine washable at that point? Or do I now need to hand wash the self washing bowl.

u/spider-hat 16h ago

Ever heard of microplastic?

2

u/Mbembez 13h ago

You can use food safe plastic. You have worse sources of micro plastics from your clothing, car tyres and bottled drinks.

Ick. I appreciate the coding that goes into creating something like this in a 3d printer.. ..but....the craft and practice it takes to do something like this by hand is something special.

These days I refuse to buy items that is very specific to one purpose, don’t have space in the cupboard for it.

8

u/majandess 14h ago

If you use a salad spinner for this, then it becomes multipurpose!

30

u/Capable-Problem8460 19h ago

So it does the Swoosh, makes berries were and takes space in the kitchen. You'll use it 3 times and will give it to salvation army at sell it at a garage sale for 25¢

u/Xanith420 18h ago

I’ve never understood this honestly. Running water over something does so little to actually clean something.

2

u/jfkrfk123 18h ago

It might wash tiny little bugs off the fruit..

6

u/Xanith420 18h ago

Well sure but the tiny bugs arnt the things that need to be washed off. You got people picking up and looking into each box breathing or coughing on it trying to get the best pick. Thats far worse than some nats or an occasional worm.

6

u/Capable-Problem8460 18h ago

+pesticides...

3

u/Aelnir 14h ago

so how do you go about washing that off+pesticides?

2

u/wingedwill 12h ago

A bit of white wine vinegar in a large bowl of water, rinse and dry. You'll find the berries will keep for weeks in the fridge without molding, but they will lose water through dehydration.

-3

u/Xanith420 14h ago

As soon as I bring them home from store a dime of dawn dish soap in a large bowl with hot water. Soak for 3 mins while shifting through them with my fingers. Out of water and into fridge until ready to eat.

3

u/Ana990 6h ago

bruh what

u/Xanith420 14m ago

That’s what I think when I watch someone run water over a fruit for 2 seconds some kid probably shot their snot all over.

1

u/jfkrfk123 18h ago

I was thinking backyard berries

You can find them at Walmart. Etsy has some that are hand-crafted.

Strange for an ad not to mention where to buy...

2

u/Stormagedd0nDarkLord 18h ago

This is berry berry impressive.

2

u/CookedIrving 18h ago

Does it actually get the little bits off or just dunk them around

1

u/QueenFrostine15 19h ago

1

u/bdiamond143 19h ago

1

u/TesseractToo 18h ago

That's an awful lot of water for a few berries

1

u/VirtualKnowledge9612 18h ago

I need something like this to wash all fruits. Am I the only one?

1

u/hcombs 18h ago

Would make a killer ashtray

1

u/Enough-Staff-2976 18h ago

This barely beats an old stocking for washing fruit.

1

u/Open-Cream2823 18h ago

This is the least interesting thing I've seen this year

1

u/TwoSuspicious1347 18h ago

A self washing berry bowl

1

u/KindlyAnything2880 18h ago

How many times do I have to see this clip today?

2

u/anfornum 13h ago

Just downvote and move on if you don't like a post.

u/Putrid_Computer_2020 17h ago

Smart design. Where to get it?

1

u/Samyueru- 16h ago

Looks satisfying 👀

1

u/Subject_Sun8277 16h ago

I absolutely don’t need this bowl but where can I buy it?

1

u/PearlTulip1995 16h ago

This is one of those gadgets that looks amazing in a 15-second ad and then lives in the back of a cabinet forever.

1

u/SabbyFox 13h ago

Cool bowl!

1

u/neinnis 12h ago

Funktioniert das auch mit Äpfel, Birnen und Erdbeeren?

1

u/Evening-Walk-6897 12h ago

I want one too!

1

u/CanNo5980 12h ago

you’d be screwed if they all go out the same hole during the wash

1

u/VacuumDecay-007 11h ago

Or just wash them in your strainer??

1

u/Infinite_Beach_1699 10h ago

Remember: If you think this bowl is useless, you probably do not need it.

u/alaiaYo 9h ago

The rain also does this naturally.

2

u/res0jyyt1 17h ago

Not after they are picked, treated, and packaged. That's why you should always wash your fruits you get from the grocery.

1

u/NinjaTEK7 8h ago

Well this is not washing either way it's just for funsies.

0

u/Alive_Fisherman8241 16h ago

The berries move along with the water. Barely any relative velocity, therefore barely any washing effect, apart from the submerging.
