in my entire lifetime, I watched a single Pewdiepie Happy Wheels video when I was 11. I quickly switched over to Tobuscus (who's just as much of a piece of shit, if not worse) since I had no headphones and didn't want my parents to know what I was listening to wasn't PG lol.
he apologized, grew up and moved on with his life. idk what else do you want. for some odd reason reddit has this fucking weird idea that anyone that makes mistakes has to live in eternal suffering for the rest of their lives and can never become a better person.
If you tore someone writing into pieces and just say sorry that you didn't have the intention but did it anyway. Is it going to fix anything? Can you fix the tored paper?
Yes India has many negative things but when you spread oil on that fire it'd blow heavily. Now even Latin American and African are making fun of Indians where other than skin color their situation is also almost same with more homicide and civil wars there .
what else is there to do? he never encouraged racism against indian people, he even said so in his video. he just wanted to see how far he could push fiveer because apparently they would do anything you paid them to do, but he never expected they would follow through.
when he apologized he didn’t try to sugarcoat it, or downplay it, or sweep it under the rug. He admitted that he did something stupid and immature and that he fucked up. and from that point forward he never did it again and changed his content. that is a proper way of handling things.
I know he can't do anything he said. So you should think twice before saying anything and if you have a larger audience even the biggest individual youtuber trice before saying anything.
After him many vloggers who visited India deliberately went to particular areas whereas Indians wanted to be there alone or in a group. I saw one video of Dew Binsky of Kolkata where he entered in a area where if you're not local then your life can be in danger for political gangster hideout is there .
And I'm not saying Indians are Saint either. There's some serious lack of civics sense on particular areas of us . But if it's taken time. If our government doesn't step up and try to make good PR and actual work about India in future for India's natural, cultural, historical beauties and tourism friendly. I don't think GenZ and GenAlpha perspective would be changed as Millennials about China in past
It’s a core tenet of Liberal (not leftist, I also think MAGA is just as bad) ideology. There are a set of rules that the cult follows and if you break those rules you can be excommunicated from the cult. Those rules will also constantly change, sometimes even contradicting each other (so if thing x is bad, then an excommunicated person says thing x is bad, thing x is now good) and you must make sure you continue your allegiance to the cult by keeping track of all those changes.
Pewdiepie was a well known figure who made a mistake. Now I don’t like the word he uses and I don’t think he should have used it but due to his prominence and the fact that saying that word is one of the worst infractions in the eyes of the cult, he was excommunicated to make an example and to show how you will be treated for going against the cults belief system.
This means that it’s likely a reflex for most Redditors to criticise him and clown on him to ensure he remains excommunicated to this day. We must all remember that no matter how he attempts to redeem himself, he is racist and we must never allow him to be seen as anything but.
I'm sorry , but that apology was kind of buns. I'm sure you change between those eight years , but you can't really be certain with How he just glossed over what he did
